I suppose a Ritter Sport doesn’t count as ‘one square’ does it?

Yes, it does.

Incidentally, the square format was thought up by a woman, Clara Ritter.

Aren't you worried they will send you away, or worse, keep you as slaves?

Nope.
We both have a selection of useful skills, including home butchery from start to finish.

On the train and I brought my charging cable and plug. Socket by my seat.

Not charging. I think it's the weak power supply.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 12/12/2025 11:50

I am still searching for the brand which breaks into the biggest squares.

Try Waitrose own brand dark chocolate (forget which one, but feel the packets) - one of them is really thick. But it's probably best to buy lots of different bars & weigh the famous 'two squares' to see which gives you the biggest bang for your buck. My diabetic nurse always said Lindt when she mentioned two squares, so that's the gold standard.

It's charging now!

iPad has speech on it. Phone is lifeline. Both over 70% now.

Take the phone/iPad charging as a metaphor for your increasing strength and confidence, which will be 100% when it needs to beSmile

Or the Dublin version 'gwan ya good ting'
or the rural version 'hon de parish!'

The gerbils didn't have enough money for train tickets, but they're determined to be there for Myrtle.

💚💟💜 GO MYRTLE!

That's lovely, Android.
I'm imagining them running as fast as their little furry feet could carry them to keep up with the train for as long as possibleSmile
Is there really a train line called NERR, as in 'so there, nerr', or is that an AI invention?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 12/12/2025 15:47

I've no idea, MdeG (as I saw you stylishly named on another thread), I was just wishing the AI had put another carriage before Myrtle's, with 'Neee' written on it.

I think AI had trouble with LNER. It's not the best at spelling.

I have a Candy Kittens advent calendar. Will that do?

If they make you smile and feel better @Myrtle, go for it 😁

Hope things went well Myrtle.

Hope things get better Hedgehog.

I really want a JKR bauble but i'm not buying a 3d printer. I'd have to paint it, wouldn't I?

It's such a shame there isn't much money in gerbil sports. Three of the finest 100cm runners of their generation reduced to cheerleading for the Bluestocking and running after trains.

They won gold at the 2021 Golympic games 12 legged race in Furness you know.

Love the poster.
New Holland should use it in their next advertising campaign.

It would look tremendous pinned to the wall of the farm suppliers.

The only trouble is, the giant gerbil looks rather -whispers- rat-like 🐀

Hmm yes, you have a point.. it's probably a lovely lovely rat who identifies as a gerbil and just wants to live its best life, sitting on tractors in peace
😁

MarieDeGournay · 12/12/2025 20:48

Myrtle - how are you this evening? Relaxing like this, being tended to by the team of devoted gerbils we've sent over to take care of you?💙

The Bluestocking: Next stop, Christmas!
lcedcakethereforeIam · 12/12/2025 20:48

I've just had a bit of an evening 😳 A friend asked if one of us would take her Dad's ticket for something, he wasn't well. I said I'd go with her, offered to pay for the ticket. As she was driving me home we were talking about Christmas shopping and she mentioned Lush. Because I didn't want her buying me a gift from there I said I'd took against them. She asked me why and I told her, because she asked, they were sending breast binders to young girls behind their parents back. As far as I was concerned that could have been the end of it. She volunteers in the arts, I suspect she probably knew a bunch of tp and wouldn't be comfortable going into it. She decided though that I needed to be told about 'identifying' and 'being kind'. I told her blokes could do what they want, wear what they want. There's no hatred here. Third spaces should make everyone happy. She then said she didn't want to talk about it...trans friends. Despite this I was then told about a 'hateful' woman in her neighbourhood lecturing parents, warning them about what their kids are being taught in school. I've no idea who she's talking about or what it had to do with me. If this woman even exists. Hateful stickers! No idea what was on them. She didn't tell me. I doubt she knows. Then, get this, razor blades behind the stickers! I may have scoffed. She swears she's seen a photo. I told her I'm not this woman, know nothing about her and we changed the subject.

I'm saddened and finding it faintly ridiculous. All because I was worried she'd was her money on bathbombs that I wouldn't use. I can't remember the last time I had a bath. I always shower.
