Florida takes Legal action against Medical Groups That Pushed Trans Procedures On Children

Florida took legal action on Tuesday against a trio of medical organizations that promote transgender procedures on children, The Daily Wire has learned.

Republican Attorney General James Uthmeier filed a suit against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics over their support of transgender procedures on kids. The suit accuses the organizations of pushing irreversible medical procedures on gender-confused children for financial benefit.

“For years, these groups insisted the recommendations were settled science, but behind closed doors, they knew the evidence was weak,” Uthmeier said in a video shared with The Daily Wire. “They knew the outcomes [were] uncertain, and the risks very real. Parents were not told the full story. In fact, some parents were told that if they didn’t put their kids through permanent, life-altering, sick procedures, like double mastectomies and castration, their child would commit suicide. Not only is that unethical and dangerous medicine, but it is against the law.”

Uthmeier added that “truth was replaced with political activism.”

The suit was filed in the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Saint Lucie County, Florida. It accuses the organizations of violating Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act and engaging in racketeering by misleading “patients, parents, insurers, regulators, and courts about the reversibility and efficacy of pediatric sex interventions.”..

“Defendants have a problem: there is no credible evidence that sex interventions alleviate pediatric gender dysphoria. To convince patients, insurance companies, regulators, and judges otherwise, Defendants initiated a coordinated campaign to develop ‘clinical guidelines’ recommending sex intervention for pediatric gender dysphoria,” the suit reads.

Advocates of gender-affirming care say it’s evidence-based.

But now, newly released internal files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) prove that the practice of transgender medicine is neither scientific nor medical.

American Medical Association, The Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and thousands of doctors worldwide rely on WPATH. It is considered the leading global authority on gender medicine.

And yet WPATH’s internal files, which include written discussions and a video, reveal that its members know they are creating victims and not getting “informed consent.”

Victims include a 10-year-old girl, a 13-year-old developmentally delayed adolescent, and individuals suffering from schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses.
The injuries described in the WPATH Files include sterilization, loss of sexual function, liver tumors, and death.

WPATH members indicate repeatedly that they know that many children and their parents don’t understand the effects that puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries will have on their bodies. And yet, they continue to perform and advocate for gender medicine.
The WPATH Files prove that gender medicine is comprised of unregulated and pseudoscientific experiments on children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults. It will go down as one of the worst medical scandals in history.

Why I Am Publishing WPATH Files And How I Got Them

The written WPATH Files come from WPATH’s member discussion forum, which runs on software provided by DocMatter.

Ninety seconds of the 82-minute video was made public last year. We are making the full video available for the first time.

One or more people gave me the WPATH Files, and my colleagues and I attempted to summarize them as a series of articles. We quickly realized the topic was too sensitive, complex, and large to be dealt with as a work of journalism, and we moved the project to the research institute I founded seven years ago, Environmental Progress (EP).

The Files are authentic. We redacted most names and left only those individuals who are leading gender medicine practitioners to whom we sent “right-of-reply” emails. We know WPATH members discussed our emails internally. No WPATH leader or member has denied that the Files are anything other than what they appear to be.

It’s a welcome turn of affairs to have a reckoning or some sort of accountability for this medical malpractice horrific experiment inflicted on vulnerable children.

But it also frustrating beyond measure that the reckoning comes from the Republican Party. Despite how many GC women are politically centre / centre left / left, this will be another opportunity for throwing out accusations of how GC women are ‘right wing’. Just why are the left so completely blind to the insanity and damage? It is a mystery to me.

Attorney Generals James Uthmeier and Ken Paxton are MAGA loyalists and will do anything to appease this base of people. In fact Uthmeier got censored by a federal judge this year for enforcing an unconstitutional Florida immigration law, as well as a host of other issues that don't align with the MAGA groups. An Attorney General who refuses to obey the law if it doesn't suit them. In fact they're also suing Starbucks for "race-based quota policies," without any submission of the actual policies provided by Starbucks. Ken Paxton is being sued for divorce this year from his wife Paula, for adultery after it became public his mistress, Laura Olson, who is still married BTW to another person, since 2018. This is just one of many scandals he's endured but been protected against. So if these are the two people who are being held so high and mighty as being their savior for these nonexistent truths, you should all start your own MAGA-esque political party so you can feel right at home.

I'm not generally one of those "X belongs in jail," people - we all know the type from youtube comments - but I do hope that Rachel Levine faces prosecution for his regulatory attempts to medicalize children and that this leads the way toward it. His active promotion of this on a national scale using the US federal government regulatory apparatus was a human rights atrocity and hopefully these lawsuits lay the foundation for criminal charges.
