I think you're right.

For a very long time, and I'm quite old, I've always thought that the very worst punishment for being an asshole is that other people know you're an asshole and treat you appropriately.
The punishment for being an asshole is that you have to live your life as an asshole.
The comedian here is the epitome of that. People will know who he is, what he's said. They will treat him according to what they know of him.
Believe me he has a shit life, the sort of life he deserves. I'm happy with that.

If he was doing that routine in a cheap evening suit, clip-on bow tie & a frilly dress shirt while holding a beer, his audience would have cancelled him. Because he's wearing a giant version of a little girl's party frock, they are conditioned to perceive his misogyny as hilarious.

It's been noted before that with some transwomen there's a misogyny that borders on sadism, so deep is the envy of women possessing something they can never have. This is an unmistakable example of it.

It doesn't "border on", it's deeply, inextricably enmeshed. One or two young female detransitioners have spoken about their experiences at the hands of such men, you occasionally get posts on Reddit that address the phenomenon but those posts are nuked faster than you can say, "paraphilias cluster".
