The Times- puberty blocker trial vital says Cass

Cass is in The Times advocating for the proposed puberty blocker study as ‘proper research’ into but seems oblivious to the fact that the proposed study is lasting for only two years and runs the risk of being more slop research that she advocated strongly against. I don’t believe we need more research anyway as enough children have been subjected to this to know the results.

But Cass — whose report criticised the “remarkably weak evidence” over whether puberty blockers could ease gender-related distress, and recommended they be banned outside a clinical trial — insisted the Pathways study was needed.…..
Cass said only a trial would put the issue to bed by establishing whether the drugs are effective. If evidence is found that they do not help children it would stem demand, she said.

Puberty blocker trial ‘vital’ after clinic buried study, says Cass

The author of a landmark report on the disgraced Tavistock gender service says it suppressed evidence about the drugs

No surprise, an influencer said that would be the case when her report was published and it seem others keep running to catch up with her constantly.

Hard to believe she can still believe an objective and ethical drug trial is a possibility. I don’t believe it is at this point. Cass must have a lot more faith in the system than I do.

.... I'll hope there's been the usual gap in translation between what she actually said and what the article says she said.

This would appear to imply some idea that if another 200 plus kids are sacrificed it will be possible to prove harm and then get parents/kids to stop wanting and pressuring for it.

Where do you even start on the flaws in that?

And this experiment will emphatically not provide any real evidence of anything, it's been shot in both feet and gagged before it starts to ensure it's capacity to demonstrate anything beyond the preestablished desired outcome is limited. And as before: if the control over it has been such to not only design this mess, and to shop around until an ethics committee could be made to shut their eyes and pass it, then obviously if it did show anything negative those results would be repressed and withheld. We live in a country where the government are subverting law when it's inconvenient, this is just more of the same bollocks.

Let’s remember why she thinks it is ‘vital’. Because she got blocked in tracking patients who had already had those drugs who could have helped her with her report. Because support groups and advocates sent out the word to reject any attempt she made to include them in her research.

What a fucking mess.

How bleak. So many steps backwards.

Hasn’t Finland already found the answer anyway - after reviewing their previous gender related practices with children? An answer that showed it had all been a bad idea?
