From about 8.15 this morning. They were wonderful and did their usual sterling job of laying out why women and girls deserve fair sports.

Aren't they great? What kind of reception did they get?

Greyskybluesky · 24/11/2025 11:54

Thanks @ItsCoolForCats They are both so clear, so logical, so coherent.

Sharron was on Free Speech Nation last night and did a fantastic job presenting the case for women's sports (the presenter was also clearly a bit star-struck!)

A comment from a TRA this morning: the funniest part about Sharon Davies is, her body is more masculine than most cis men

So it IS all about appearance! But hang on, I thought it wasn't meant to be all about appearance? And 'Sharron looks like a bloke' is an insult?? So much mixed-up thinking here...

Wow what a low life, when you've having to resort to personal insults then it's clear you've completely lost the argument.

Scout2016 · 24/11/2025 12:04

Possibly old news on here but I recommend the documentary Maiden about Tracy leading the first all women team to compete in a massive sailing race event. All the media attention with support and sexist naysayers, as well as the event itself - really interesting.
I got it second hand on dvd but it might be on streaming channels.

FaithHopeCarnage · 24/11/2025 12:09

I saw this - Sharon in particular was really impressive. There was pushback from the presenters (Susanna Reid and Ed Balls) but it came across to me as being more from a position of benign ignorance rather than outright TRA support (unlike Lorraine Kelly). Sharon hammered home the “pro women not anti trans”, and drew parallels with the East German situation in the 70s. I thought her arguments were brilliantly targeted and totally refuted the rather meagre lines of positioning/questioning.

Some fairly mild pushback from the presenters, but they refuted it really well. Ed Balls was doing the usual thing of saying it shouldn't be a blanket policy, and Tracy made the point that women shouldn't have to keep arguing against this exception and that exception etc. If a female category exits, then that is the baseline, and it is up to men to work out how to make the men's/open category more inclusive.

And there was a clip of a sad transwomen who was having a sulk about not being able to play women's cricket anymore. Apparently, protecting the female category is "going backwards". 🙄

I saw a clip on social media of Piers Morgan arguing with Dr. Amir about this issue and Lorraine Kelly kept quiet and let Piers make his points.

I don't really watch ITV, but I think it's been worse than the BBC on this. I know Loose Women is appalling. But maybe now that the BBC's very obvious bias in not adequately acknowledging how trans demands infringe women's rights has been called out, maybe other media outlets will attempt more balanced coverage. Too much to hope?

Lorraine made a very shocked face when Piers said that 1000 women had lost out medals/places to men. I wasn't sure if this was genuine shock or not

truthsayers · 24/11/2025 13:47

Lorraine comes from the Jeremy Vine school of pretend ignorance

endofthelinefinally · 24/11/2025 13:52

It put me right off Dr Amir. Very disappointing.

Do you think the penny is dropping for some people that this isn't about being mean to transwomen, but that prioritising gender over sex causes real, tangible harms to women?

I don't really know much about Dr. Amir but he seemed clueless and was just reeling off all the TRA talking points he's obviously picked up. He clearly hasn't given this much thought and sounded ridiculous.

Maybe he's just doing it for cool points then. Really disappointing. He posts a lot of useful and brilliant stuff about women's health on IG

Lorraine is one of those people who acts like sweetness and light but from various sources is actually anything but.

I love Sharron and hope one day she'll be officially recognised for all she's doing for women in both her sport and all others. Dame Sharron Davies doesn't sound too bad.

I know more than I want. His facebook is a bit patronising to say the least.

100% agree!

TheaBrandt1 · 24/11/2025 16:51

The more right of centre men are actually better on this piers Morgan for example.

It’s the new upside down world for us former left of centre women where the bbc and the guardian are wrong and the daily Mail and the telegraph are right.

Yeah that's how it seemed to me. He thought he was proffering the right, virtuous opinions, but he doesn't seem to realise that the overton window has shifted and that most ordinary people don't agree with men being able to compete in the female sports category, for example.

Sharron and Tracy were great. Poor Ed was really grasping at straws here and just came over as someone who didn't know what he was talking about.

I don't think men like Piers Morgan have a burning passion for women's rights, but they are just astounded at the ridiculousness of some of the arguments made in the name of gender ideology. This clip is a good example of it. If "Melissa" Poulton can claim to be a lesbian, why can't Piers Morgan identify as a black lesbian?

Piers Morgan is completely correct. The moment you permit people to identify as something they aren't, you open the door to all sorts of absurdities. Why should it be acceptable for me to identify as a woman - but unacceptable to identify as, say, Chin...

Well Sharron will take her seat in the House of Lords soon and being a Baroness means she will have far more influence 🤩

I’m pretty sure Dr Amir Khan is just protecting his lucrative job. Very disappointing after all the caring, helpful stuff on women’s health that he posts on IG. He may well have lost a few followers!
I bet Mama Khan (his redoubtable mother) doesn’t believe TWAW - I hope she puts him right.
