"Ask for Angela founder resigns after woman's image removed to 'avoid deterring men'"

I thought this might be worth a thread.

From the article:

“I did not support the idea that her image should be removed to avoid deterring men from using the scheme.”
She disagreed use of a female safeguarding figure might prevent men from seeking help.
“Removing her weakened the campaign’s identity and grounding in women’s safety. My input on this was not taken on board,” she added.
“I do not recognise the CIC [Community Interest Company] as the originator or owner of the initiative, and I now feel it necessary to clarify my position publicly.
“A new Ask for Angela charity is being established to ensure the initiative continues in line with its original purpose, values and safeguarding ethos.
“In the meantime I will continue to support venues, local authorities and organisations who wish to implement Ask for Angela correctly and with integrity.”

Ask for Angela founder resigns after woman’s image removed to ‘avoid deterring men’

I don't really have anything to add except a few expletives about how anything geared towards helping women must eventually be made to centre men.

So she is going to start another that remains true to the original concept? Good on her.

This does need as much support as possible. Thanks for sharing.

His sentence shows you all you need to know about how much women's (and children's) lives are worth, zilch.
"He lost control". Oh sorry your honour, I lost control of my bank account and didn't pay my tax for the last 3 years. I think I know how well that defence would work, but strangling and hitting your new wife with a hammer, it works just fine.
It was set up for women, why can't it just stay as it was. Men can set up their own.

Because everything always has to be about men. Otherwise you're hateful. 🙄

Obviously Angela will go next.

It will be 'Ask for Dave'

What is the point of a code that women know to discreetly escape from men if it's advertised to men too? They may as well just say "help me!"
