I was also in the Red Cross as a 10 year old and learned bandaging techniques that I have never had cause to use in nearly 40 years of actual nursing. Weirdly, we used to go to speedway events, which I had never considered at all odd, what with it being the 1970s and all, until I happened to mention it to DH. But yes, a bunch of 10 year olds and a bloke called Ernie did actually run the first aid tent. Does that make me a field surgeon or something?

ContentedAlpaca · 17/11/2025 22:38

@CarefulN0w that's just brought back a core memory of helping my grandad who did first aid for the great North run. My job was to stand there with a gob of vaseline on my fingers that runners would try to grab as they ran past.

Sorry yes.

So Ruth McCarthy who wrote the email on behalf of Outburst.

Is best friends with a barrister called Laura McMahon

Who was the KC representing the NI government in a legal challenge from a TW that Sean Doherty defended on an assault charge. The TW was housed in a female jail in line with the NI gov policy.

ETA - originally went to a male jail and then mounted a case for a judicial review

But Jane Russel was a KC.

I have decided KC is the opposite of Professor.

If you legitimately have it as your post nominal you’ve had to 💋 too many butts.

Naomi is not a KC* because she kicks butts.

*Or it might be that she doesn’t play nice with other barristers, minimum ratio of two recusals per three panel members, keeps dropping big rocks in ponds. Or more likely the very lengthy application process might be daunting. I have no evidence either way.

Night all

The Outburst outburst felt like a tweaked template to me. It seemed too structured and considered somehow. I would love to run it through that software they use to detect plagiarism in essays and see if there is a level of similarity with the other responses.

I have no idea if it works this way but am amusing myself with the thought that the software can give a percentage 'match' DNA style. And red lights start to flash.

Mmmm - let’s do that. Any one of you Dame Professors Esquire know how to reverse engineer this into some database to check ?

There is always some LLM/ ChatGpt bod about…

Can people who are more familiar with ETs speak to whether the quite shocking rudeness and inappropriate jokes are a regular feature of witness testimony. I can understand a bit of snippyness under stress but here, and in the Fife case, we have seen a fair amount of sarcasm or hostility, as though witnesses don't seem to bring their basic 'work manners' to court with them?

When I see Michele behave like that it reminds me of someone who

  • Doesn’t have a manager
  • Isnt capable of being managed
  • Has only had that job and can’t do anything else
  • Big fish 🐠 (with a BIGLY screen) in a small under funded arts 🎭 organisation
  • Doesn’t do any continuous development so hasn’t developed intellectually or exercises critical thinking

She’s coming across as awful because she’s been a rogue person in this micro org hoovering up government funding & is incapable of receiving feedback. She’s really got an attitude and the Judge can see it. Her behaviour does her no favors.

And sure as she doesn’t need a break - when Naomi starts tightening the screws she bolts.

The other reason they’re so awful on stand is that they can’t keep up with the gender ideology lies - so they get tripped up or have to think carefully and it becomes overwhelming. Like toddlers they can contain themselves only for so long then they lash out.

If someone has the text they can paste I can try and see if my AI will help. Although that's about as far as my skills go.

ETA although it's just as likely to try and turn it into a play performed by gerbils.

What if you didn't have a car and didn't go to university? Could anyone's life withstand these body-blows? 😁

Even sadder times?

That looks 100% like a response to a backchannel communication:

"I'm going to send you an email copying SM. Write back to me and explain why having her on staff means we can't work together, so we have some evidence to present to a workplace enquiry. Thanks."

NebulousProfessorSupportPostcard · 18/11/2025 00:00

I c&p'd the text into two free plagiarism checkers and it only tracked back to mumsnet &twitter reports of same.

FightingFair · 18/11/2025 00:01

Can anyone clarify the situation with Deborah Boyd? I'm assuming with all the jokes on here that her claims to be a professor may be unwarranted? Did someone get legitimate info on her background ?

Subject: Response to Sara Morrison's Participation in Anti-Trans Event

Dear Michele,

Thank you for your email regarding Sara Morrison’s participation in the recent anti-trans event in Belfast. I appreciate you reaching out and sharing your concerns.

We were deeply troubled to learn that Sara shared a platform with individuals known for anti-trans and anti-LGBT views, including Jolene Bunting, Matthew Cavan, and Posie Parker. These figures have consistently promoted harmful rhetoric that undermines the dignity and safety of trans and queer people, both locally and globally.

By appearing alongside them, Sara has unfortunately contributed to the legitimization of this discourse. While we respect the importance of freedom of expression and open debate, we believe that such platforms should not be used to amplify views that endanger vulnerable communities.

Outburst Arts remains committed to fostering intelligent, inclusive dialogue and supporting the rights and wellbeing of trans and queer individuals. In light of Sara’s recent actions, we do not feel it is appropriate for her to be included in LGBT events we support or collaborate with.

Thank you again for raising this important issue.

Warm regards,

Ruth McCarthy

Artistic Director, Outburst Arts

Co Pilot doesn't think it's anything other than an bog standard letter and said

"It’s likely that Ruth McCarthy drew on internal guidelines or past statements—especially around Outburst Arts’ stance on inclusion and trans rights—but adapted them to respond directly to the Michele/Sara Morrison situation."

WaryHiker · 18/11/2025 00:14

I was planning to throw my hat into the ring for the Fife position, but on mature consideration I've decided to go for the BBC one instead on the basis that I once received a 50p postal order for having a letter in Jackie magazine. That strikes me as the sort of creative endeavour that should appeal to the governing board of the BBC.

They were asked - do you want to lie about hungover and look at a BIGLY SCREEN.

And here comes

Dear Stand by your Trans,

I beseech you to burn the witch forthwith.

Cut & paste waffle for six paras.

Failure to do so with result in me continuing to NEVER actually partner with you.

Since you have never supported or collaborated with BFF - then continue as you are. Don’t get your gender neutral under garments in a twist.

This isn't the same text as the screenshot posted by SexRealistic at 23.53, originally posted at about 4pm this afternoon. Am I missing something?
Do we have the text of other responses? I wasn't able to follow the proceedings that closely the first couple of days. I don't know if the technology allows but it would be most interesting to compare them with eachother.
Sorry I have to go to bed now and what I know about it could be written on a very small postage stamp so will leave it to the late night techies and their wizardry.

It does sound as though no one has really questioned her work seriously before - she's not used to having to justify herself or organisation to critical/appraising questions.

Many of the respondent witnesses make NI sound like a very small pond where everyone knows each other and where people engage in mutual back-scratching by awarding each other grants and appointing each other to public boards. (DB was also a prime example of this.) I think she simply has no idea how this looks to people observing outside of the tiny bubble.

I am also interested in the bigly, importantist, £100K screen. How did such as small organisation afford this? Where do they store such a large item? How do they insure it? Did the financers have any idea that its main use would be for "hangover, beanbag movie day"? Could they not rent one when they need it for less?

@weegielass found two videos where she explained she was a visiting professor for a short time in early 00s. She had no education past 16.

She also called herself a Judge. Twice.

Not a Professor by any stretch
