She said in that interview that she was cleared all of wrongdoing and none of the allegations were upheld. Is this true or a lie?

Well in 2022 a medical tribunal found that her fitness to practise was impaired, she was suspended for two months and they found evidence of serious misconduct. But then they bizarrely decided she had learned her lesson.

I think the fact she can spout WPATH guidelines has made her seem more credible in the past.

Helleofabore · 17/11/2025 12:36

halfandhalfchipsandrice · 17/11/2025 12:22

She was very cagey when she said that.

I suspect that if she was held to answer that, she would distance herself from the website. I reckon she would say something like, 'oh, I am not involved in that side of the business. It is an old page and obviously needs to be redone'. Or something like that.

Renamedaccount · 17/11/2025 12:56

Depressingly I think this is right. She’s doing a press round to promote GenderGP’s US launch. It’s a huge market - two existing US outfits with business models similar to GenderGP have raised over $100 million in VC funding between them and with states bringing in restrictions the demand for online providers is growing. Webberley has dollar signs in her eyes and as Helleofabore says she’s aiming at a very specific audience here who are so convinced by gender woo that they’ll automatically dismiss any criticism of her as bigotry/transphobia.

Merrilydancing · 17/11/2025 13:17

The principle of first do no harm seems to have completely missed this dangerous dr.

Wow. He was absolutely fantastic. Why does she do interviews?!

I think she is a masochist. Genuinely. Look at her X posts, they have like 500 vitriolic comments on every one of them

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 17/11/2025 13:28

This interview is an utter car crash. I do think it could have been less confrontational from the host. It will get cut up and reposted to prove a point

He easily could have, and should have, pushed against the stereotypes inherent in the ideology of transgenderism. He could have said that if someone says they want to be a girl, ask what they would be able to do if they were a girl, they could not do as a boy?

And pushed back against the lack of data lead treatment when it comes to the outcomes of trans identified people.

She got her advert out, including the price!!! To everyone who will buy it.

She’s engagement farming I think. Rage bait people into interacting with her

Arran2024 · 17/11/2025 13:46

I thought her answers to the suggestion that you give liposuction to an anorexic patient and the query about the number of young people at the Tavistock with autism were particularly poor. But her audience won't care.

Thingybob · 17/11/2025 13:57

Somewhere, probably on blue sky she will be being applauded.

I can't find any cheerleaders on any platform which makes her behaviour even odder.

She hasn't got the support of the usual TRA's so no retweets from people like mimmymum or Sophie Molly.

She hasn't got the support of other clinicians involved in gender medicine as it was them that reported her to the BMA.

Lots of ex staff of GenderGP have reported how badly she treated them.

This is a fairly recent Trans Reddit thread, they all despise her

https://www.reddit.com/r/transgenderUK/comments/1mn7l07/diy_ladies_are_your_hormone_levels_tiptop_im_a/

Even Susie Green doesn't like her, so why does she carry on if it's not for the money?

WarriorN · 17/11/2025 13:58

Glad for the sunlight

3peassuit · 17/11/2025 14:06

What a fantastic interviewer. He took absolutely no nonsense from her.

TheSandgroper · 17/11/2025 14:15

I only watched half of it. She is so deeply intractable in her (as Helen Joyce says) wickedness. There is something very, very wrong with her and she needs to be put into an institution for the remainder of her days.

However, she has had excellent media training and excels at selling her product.

'A GP offering treatment for transgender patients online has won a High Court appeal against her suspension as a doctor and can now work again.
Dr Helen Webberley has been unable to practise medicine since last year after a Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service panel found she committed serious misconduct.
But on Friday, a High Court judge said the panel's determination was "wrong".
....
Mr Justice Jay had considered arguments at a recent High Court hearing in London and outlined his conclusions in a written ruling published online, saying the panel had been dealing with a "case of the utmost complexity and sensitivity".
"The [panel's] thinking was confused, clearly wrong in places, and it omitted reference to important evidence," said Mr Justice Jay.

He added: "This appeal must be allowed on the ground that the [panel's] determination on the issue of misconduct was wrong."
Barrister Peter Mant, representing the General Medical Council, had outlined the background to the case at the hearing - telling the judge that allegations against Dr Webberley concerned her treatment of "three transgender children or adolescents and various other matters".
Mr Mant said the sanction imposed related to "one head of charge, concerning one patient" who was not named at the hearing but identified as Patient C.
Patient C was a teenager "assigned female at birth" who identified as male, said Mr Mant.
"The misconduct for which the sanction was imposed concerned failure to provide good clinical care to a transgender child (Patient C) in not discussing the risks before commencing treatment with puberty blockers," he told the judge.

"The tribunal found that suspension was necessary to protect the public as the appellant did not have insight into her failings," he said.
Mr Justice Jay said he had "concerns" about "certain aspects" of Dr Webberley's "practice" in relation to Patient C - including a "failure to have a face-to-face consultation on the issue of fertility".
But he added: "It is far from clear to me that what did take place should be strongly criticised."
The judge went on: "The sole focus of this appeal has been the quality of the appellant's clinical practice in relation to one patient, Patient C.
"This appeal does not raise any wider issues about the wisdom or otherwise of administering puberty blockers to the younger age group who wish to undergo interventions for gender reassignment with full parental agreement."
He said Dr Webberley's case "ends here" and would not be remitted to a tribunal panel for redetermination.'

'In 2018, Dr Webberley was convicted of running an independent medical agency without being registered.'

'Dr Helen Webberley (“the Appellant”) is a registered General Practitioner with a special interest in sexual and transgender medicine. She has operated a website called “GenderGP”. Her practice was investigated by the General Medical Council (“the Respondent”) and in due course charges were brought in relation to her treatment of three transgender children, Patient A, Patient B and Patient C.

There was an 85-day hearing before a Medical Practitioners Tribunal (“MPT”) (including deliberation), spread over the course of about one year. Both the Appellant and the Respondent were represented by counsel who are no longer instructed. There were over 20 allegations and sub-allegations, but in the end the only one that mattered was Head of Charge or Allegation paragraph 5(d)(iii) (“para 5(d)(iii)”), which provided, as amended, as follows: “5. Following an initial consultation with Patient C on 9 November 2016 you failed to provide good clinical care in that you: d. Advised Patient C as to the risks of GnRHa before commencing treatment without iii. discussing the risks to Patient C’s fertility;”

Although adverse findings of facts were made against the Appellant on other limbs of the charge, the only one which led to a finding of impairment of fitness to practise and a sanction was para 5(d)(iii). In the result, on 30th June 2022 the Appellant was suspended from practice for a period of two months with a direction that a review hearing take place before the end of the suspension period. The Appellant now appeals under section 40 of the Medical Act 1983, as amended, against the findings of fact, misconduct, impairment and sanction in relation to para 5(d)(iii). '

From the judgement.

Ben said my son wanted to have a baby but she cunningly replied that men can get pregnant "trans men". Ben's son still can't get pregnant.

ArabellaSaurus · 17/11/2025 14:33

From HW's own website:

2013
'My first GMC investigation. One of my young patients died of alcohol-related problems and her brother complained to the GMC. The expert found my practice to be ‘below the expected standard’ but changed his mind when he actually read the records.'

'CQC HIW ABUHB GMC NHS - April 24th 2017 - they all came down on me with their ten tonne hammers. I was accused, investigated, PACE interviewed, suspended, stopped from working, battered by the press. I don’t know how I survived that year - it was horrific. I just wanted to have a fair hearing and I never got one. Nobody would listen to the truth, they already knew the lies were what they wanted to hear. I cried a lot that year.'
...

2018

'I was initially suspended from being a GP and then nationally disqualified by the Fifth Tier Tribunal. When I walked into that court, I knew I had already lost, giving a 12 year old ‘girl’ testosterone - no no. I was ‘temporarily’ suspended by the GMC preventing me from working in any capacity in my profession. Nobody would listen to me.'

2019

'Healthcare Inspectorate Wales had told me I should register with them and allowed me to carry on, pending registration. Then they heard about the GMC & CQC & ABUHB and the actions against me in the preceding two years, my registration application was declined and instead they convicted me for carrying on an unregistered service. Just so so unfair.'

"so why does she carry on if it's not for the money?"

I think it is only for the money, myself. She has found a niche market and she is selling that service for all that it is worth.

I wonder though what 'bad' press there would be about her that would be out there that is not already known? She has been taken through the standards board and survived enough to continue to do this. The service obviously actually provides the drugs and service that they advertise.

What else? Poor service where they give drugs without a protracted out process? That is widely known and is actually desirable for enough people to use the service.

I think she knows that people will use the service despite some bad press. She has filled the market. Seriously, what arguments are people who support these medical treatments going to use to discredit her? In discrediting her, they are likely to discredit their own arguments. She has survived all this so far, and she really is using these media appearances to gain that publicity.

I doubt any person who supports these treatments are going to say much at all that is negative about her. They might resort to ad hominem attacks, but that has been done so many times already.

ArabellaSaurus · 17/11/2025 15:29

You might be right, Helle.

From what I read, she is distrusted and resented by most trans identifying people. They know that the sites are money making endeavours. So it would seem strange for her to have a messiah complex about it all.

But, here are a few quotes from her personal website:

'Hormones directly affect our reproductive health, our growth and development. They are natural concentrated magic and should be used for good.'

'The hormonal therapies informed and enabled by the information patients and doctors are armed with by Helen Webberley literally saves lives every year.'

...

'I was astounded - something so simple - if you turn off a trans woman's testosterone production and replace it with oestrogen, then she develops the characteristics associated with femininity - breasts, hips, curves, soft skin, rounder face - and what’s more she starts to see things differently, like a woman does. She feels emotions as a woman does and she will most definitely cry at the movies.'
...
'On the other hand I watched with wonder as trans men’s voices broke, their beards and clitorises grew and their muscles proudly developed and they started to hunt and gather..'

...

'Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy:

For transgender individuals, this therapy involves administering hormones like estrogen or testosterone to align their physical characteristics with their gender identity. In doing so that individual can develop a body that showcases who they are in the truest form and prevents unnecessary harm and in some cases death.'

The syntax is so chopped up and strange, and the concepts so jarring and extreme. It'd be interesting to hear a psych evaluation.

Helen Webberly: Hormones

Even in small quantities our hormones influence our bodies controlling our organs and tissues, affecting our responses to stress, mood and mental health.

Those are very highly targeted and rather persuasive bits of text if you look at them, Arabella. At first glance, they come across as 'expert product sales pitches' but written at different times, and maybe by different people, so they don't really flow.

'On the other hand I watched with wonder as trans men’s voices broke, their beards and clitorises grew and their muscles proudly developed and they started to hunt and gather..'

Wasn't it men that hunted whilst women gathered? Perhaps she is talking about NB people

ProfessorDameOriginalHorticulturalGnu · 17/11/2025 16:02

Woah, is she claiming that a clitoris can grow into a penis?
