BBC journalist forced out for gender realistic views

It must feel so good for her to get this off her chest and have people listen and take it seriously! I am conflicted about this, I think that we are lucky to have the BBC as our broadcaster in general, but the groupthink has clearly taken over. Bob Vylan, the Gaza documentary, Huw Edwards, Gary Lineker, it seems to have been PR disaster after disaster. While there needs to be an awful lot of cleansing sunshine on internal practices and biases, I really hate that Trump is crowing about crooked media bias in our broadcaster and actually being right for once.

Cath Leng claims younger LGBT reporters acted as ‘gatekeepers’ on trans stories and gender critical coverage was censored

No Fear, No Favour - the SEEN in Journalism podcasts - by her and two other ex-BBC journalists are brilliant.

Contemporaneouslyagog · 10/11/2025 11:31

If only they would listen to her

YouCantProveIt · 10/11/2025 11:59

Thanks for sharing

hellowhaaat3632 · 10/11/2025 12:01

Thanks, it's all coming out isn't it. What I don't understand is why now? We've known for years.....

PS: your usename OP 😂

This is really interesting:
"rather than just a few LGBT reporters refusing to cover gender critical stories questioning the actions of trans activists, Leng said that journalists across the BBC were to blame for the “biased” coverage.
She said that in about 2018, the BBC introduced a system of specialist news “hubs” covering various subject matters which were responsible for commissioning their own stories. Leng said: “So every single hub was involved in this.
“The health hub could, for instance, could have picked up on the Tavistock [clinic] story. They were asked to — it was pitched to them — but they didn’t. There were gender critical stories about education and multiple political stories pitched, but none of them were picked up. So they were all responsible.”

BBC accused of suppressing negative transgender stories

Leaked dossier also reveals the broadcaster misled viewers with edited speech by President Trump and was biased against Israel

That's a great article and so important. The BBC are trying to swerve all this - pretending their only fault is the fake Trump piece. Good to see Cath Leng getting coverage.

I’d also really recommend the podcast

DamnTheCheesemongers · 10/11/2025 13:37

The SEEN in Journalism podcast No Fear. No Favour (as posted upthread) is fabulous. Cath and another journalist interviewed Nick Wallis about a couple of months ago and he said that he'd met Tim Davies at a party shortly before the podcast, and he'd specifically told the then-DG that gender ideology was a ticking time-bomb for the BBC. I can't remember what Nick said his response was off the top of my head but I think we can all infer that it wasn't taken with due seriousness.

PerformativeBewilderment · 10/11/2025 14:04

“She claimed that when she suggested booking guests from gender critical organisations to be interviewed on BBC News she was stonewalled. “There seemed to be a blacklist on people like Sex Matters, Transgender Trend and LGB Alliance,” she said.”

Love that sneaky dig about Stonewall - my bolding

BendoftheBeginning · 10/11/2025 14:25

I would love to see this getting more coverage by places like Sky and ITV. Surely now is the time?!

nicepotoftea · 10/11/2025 14:33

he'd specifically told the then-DG that gender ideology was a ticking time-bomb for the BBC.

I wonder if there will be any court cases mentioning the misinformation in the 'I Am Leo' program that was quietly removed from streaming.

Tofufuton · 10/11/2025 14:36

Other news organisations shouldn't be let off the hook, either. The media lanyard bods all talked shite at the altar of trans. Getting on their high horses now to kick the Beeb when it's down is disingenuous.

fabricstash · 10/11/2025 21:41

The podcast is great there have been some great interviews!

moto748e · 10/11/2025 21:48

Isn't the top man at ITV News a big gender enthusiast?

I've seen the tedious Paul Brand do interviews with sad men upset that they can't access undressed girls and women in changing rooms etc.

junipery · 10/11/2025 22:19

I’m glad this is getting coverage.

And agree the podcast is fantastic.

Supporterofwomensrights · 10/11/2025 22:19

I'm so happy to watch this ideology crack open. The cracks could be deeper, more widespread and more visible to people who aren't paying close attention but, nonetheless, it really is finally happening.

I agree, but my point is most of them are ignoring the trans/women’s rights debacle and going all-in on the relatively minor Trump edit (which was stupid and should have been corrected immediately, but is ONE issue - the trans stuff is repeated and systemic and going on for a decade!). They should all be covering what’s gone wrong re gender vs sex, but they’re too busy gleefully chasing the American angle to be serious.

I will have a look! This poor woman deserves to be listened to, now she is freely able to speak.

It’s working for them. My Beeb-loving relatives think it’s all about one mistake to do with what Trump said, it was someone else’s fault anyway, and their beloved Auntie Beeb is still trustworthy.

moto748e · 12/11/2025 14:34

I don't think the Trump edit is 'relatively minor' at all. It's the sort of thing that the BBC used to tell us only went on in faraway dictatorships.

It’s working for a lot of instititions that are guilty of the same misogyny. Make no mistake.

ForHazelTiger · 13/11/2025 05:21

So stupid of institutions to get rid of their good people - they will end up with a bunch of useless yesmen and become irrelevant anyway. No need for the right to try and destroy the BBC when it's so capable of doing that itself.
