Anyone else following the Joey Barton trial.

I am in no way defending what he has done or suggesting that he shouldn't be in court but it struck me that Jeremy Vine's comments about feeling unsafe after a photo of his address was published have been taken much more seriously than those of JKR and other prominent women.

The TRAs weren't even charged let alone tried and in all the coverage and they argued they were in the right but took it down because of transphobic hate (not for her benefit).

I know it's not a competition but it's just yet another example of where the behaviour of TRAs is not held to the same account as others.

Unfortunately because tawdry tags like the Daily Mail keep publishing photos of where celebrities live, it gives others cover to do the same, especially if they are the same celebrities. No-one should do this to anyone.

I don't get celebrity culture so I believe everyone should normally be allowed a peaceful private life away from their professional activities but know I am very odd for thinking this judging from sales.

AFAIK, Vine isn't so interesting to these rags to the same degree and hasn't had external photos of his house published. So, in a quirk of fame, if he were more bankable to the media, he'd likely have no actionable complaint either.
