Not sure if this is connected but Latvia, for one, have withdrawn or threatened to withdraw from the Istambul convention because they claim it's sneaking in gender ideology. I doubt it's that clear cut, there's probably misogynistic and homophobic influences too. I doubt those voices, assuming they exist, would have the leverage they do if it weren't for gender ideology.

That sounds like it's the sort of objection that's discussed in the panel - a number of countries are unhappy at being made to reciprocate the legislative preferences of more socially permissive countries.

Latvia voted to withdraw from the Instanbul Convention for Women's Rights which is meant to protect women from men's violence.
