Richmond upon Thames is a Lib Dem council and stuffed full of vastly privileged people and quite a few celebrities. Exactly the sort of people who lap all this up because beeee kiiiind

I don't live in Richmond or vote libdem, but I can't see what the fuss is about.

It's kids entertainment... Do you think babies to 5 yo are going to be ruined for life if they watch this?

They’ve been doing pantomime at Richmond theatre for decades - that’s a drag show. Do you have an issue with panto too?

SillyMilly82 · 25/10/2025 15:08

Drag is not the same as panto. It's overtly sexual. This group advertise their performance as 'fruity'. They're openly saying it's sexual as they try to appeal to toddlers.

I can't understand how any parent would think this is suitable or appropriate

goldtrap · 25/10/2025 15:19

Lovely. I see the Drag Halloween storyteller is Tania - or, as the bio tells us, Tania LeCoq, who loves to 'lube up the audience'.

lol you think a drag show is the same as having a pantomime Dame and a principal boy? Oh dear

DogTiredAllTheTime · 25/10/2025 15:29

I live in the borough and think this is horrific. I don’t think who lives here @Theeyeballsintheskyhas much bearing on what’s on at the theatre as I can’t believe many here would support this!

MrsOvertonsWindow · 25/10/2025 15:43

Honestly - you load of bigots.
I understand the next few shows include:

Pole dancing for pre pubescents
Stripping for six year olds
Prostitution for pre schoolers

and lots more.

Open your minds (to spot where your brains have fallen out). 🙄

Pleasantsort · 25/10/2025 15:48

Honestly cannot understand parents who would take their children to this misogynist shite. Seriously, sick people if @goldtrap says is true.

Drag is nothing like panto and you know that.

Ahhhh Now I understand the story about the woman fined £150 for pouring her coffee down the drain...

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/coffee-fine-kew-richmond-council-burcu-yesilyurt-b1254364.html

I have a friend who lives in this council and she can't believe I get my bins for free - Richmond Council told her to just buy a new one, even though the bin collectors broke it a few months ago (cracked the plastic).

London council U-turns on £150 fine for woman who poured coffee down drain

Burcu Yesilyurt was stopped by enforcement officers in west London on October 10 and fined under Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990

Drag queens and transwomen aren't even the same thing. There's a fair argument that drag is actively offensive to trans people ("haha a man in a dress is funny"). Quite how the woke lot have convinced themselves that going to drag shows is pro-trans is beyond me.

I think many of these people are confused, I've seen articles using female pronouns for drag performers who never have claimed to be female in any way.

It seems like there is so little engagement of rationality overall that they accept any strange set of propositions without blinking an eye.
