Now that MNHQ has given us a support emoji reaction can we have a laugh out loud one as well?

Not much good news, but was pleased to see that we can now "react" with a Flowers of support.

Such an important part of FWR.

But another positive would be able to tell someone they had made us laugh out loud.

So maybe have a Grin react or .... ?

I started this thread in a sort of light hearted way, but thanks to posts can see it is or can be quite complex. Or that things happen that I wasn't aware of or thought would happen.

So without wanting to turn MNHQ into some sort of tyrant, what would the impact be of not reations, public or private.

Would it make any of us stop posting if there was never ever a reaction via an emoji but obviously could happen through a post that responds.

I'm also partly influenced but what seems a more hostile intent on FWR, or just nasty, that I dont remember in the past.

And it would be nice to think that women asking for support will feel more able to ask without being attacked.

And if in comments on a support thread so seem not just hostile but cruel we report them to MNHQ. ie in a sense we police ourselves / FWR particularly in relation to women asking for help.

We managed fine for years with no emojis at all. I'm not sure they're helpful.

I just posted an 'agree' reaction to that. Better without I think. We can use our words.

Be hard to assess, but I wonder what the impacts are of having 'secret' reactions. I daresay it lessens engagement to an extent.

Good grief.
Not sure how you leapt to my ego from my desire to thank people who gave me a much needed laugh. But leaping to a pre set conclusion is a defining feature of the kind of poster who wishes to ban ordinary social interactions for all because a few abuse them. This enraged demand to police people’s expression, particularly on the internet is a massive part of the absolute trashing of women’s rights in the last couple of decades.

So, call me what you like, angry stranger, it makes no difference. You don’t get to berate the world into compliance, none of us do.

Well the fact you focused solely on yourself in that response instead of addressing if you were calling women experiencing baby loss getting bullied "those of fragile disposition" or how many of those incidents are acceptable to you to get a laugh, maybe my reference to your ego was right...

FWR definitely needs a bore-off emoji

That would be great.

Having read some of the twattery that others have experienced, I have to reluctantly agree it’s better gone. I hadn’t imagined anyone using it cruelly beyond the ‘don’t talk such bolloks’ usage I would have been tempted by.

It sounds as though darker hearted people have made it far worse.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/10/2025 13:28

They did. It was all a bit Facebook. I am on the app so mostly couldn’t see it but it was definitely used like that.

I'm quoting rather than emoji agreeing.

Have now come round to thinking that too.
