Make Space for Girls can receive double any donations until 15 October

Make Space for Girls is a brilliant charity that campaigns for parks to be made better for girls, teenagers in particular. They are very good on challenging the ‘well let’s put in a skate park and one basketball court and then we can tick the teenagers box’ culture.

i know we can’t link but if you Google their name it will take you to their web page, and donations are matched at the moment so they get double what you donate.

They are amazing - amazing resource of research and recommendations too

I love this charity and hope they get a real boost from this. I was part of their citizen science park survey a while back, and it was really sad how all the facilities in the park near me were vastly dominated by teenage boys, with the occasional female onlooker. The Council just hadn't thought about girls and boys having different needs and wants (and don't get me started on those enclosed multi-use courts with one entrance/exit which could be easily blocked by a boy who didnt want a girl to leave - they're kind of scary imo)

I didn't post about this because of "the rules" but at the moment up until 15th the Big Give is match funding for women and girls.

So worth looking at the list of groups who have been included this year.
