Very happy with this result, how dare he indeed.

Coffeeishot · 09/10/2025 17:02

Good! Maybe he will now accept what he did and be quiet about it.

Clafoutie · 09/10/2025 17:04

The man declared himself a victim 😡
A great outcome. And a great photo of her, she looks so resolute and strong here. This woman is incredible.

Memoryhole · 09/10/2025 17:06

Bloody excellent

SpidersAreShitheads · 09/10/2025 17:12

I like to challenge my beliefs sometimes, to sort of test them, because I'm conscious that I can sometimes get a bit entrenched in my own views (autistic).

I was trying to imagine a scenario where this man could possibly be genuinely innocent.

I'm aware that some people get a kick out of pretending to be forced, and also of their body being "used" while they're drunk/asleep etc. I might not understand it personally but these fetishes do exist.

So let's say this man was told by Gisele's husband that this was her fetish. And that she'd be asleep/drugged but that it would be filmed for her gratification to watch later.

Surely the man would want to meet Gisele first to ensure that she was consenting? Surely no one would think it's OK to take the word of another man when they say the woman wanted to be drugged and raped?

I just CANNOT come up with any scenario that exonerates him in any way. It's just not possible. Even if he believed that Gisele was also pretending to be unconscious (let's ignore the snoring!), he would still have needed to establish consent first. Who on earth thinks that a man could consent for a woman?! (Ignoring the fact that Gisele's husband says he was clear about the fact she was drugged and this would be unconsenting abuse).

It was just a thought experiment really to try extra hard to try and see a different perspective. But I can't come up with ANYTHING that paints him as even vaguely innocent. There is absolutely nothing that can excuse any of these men from raping an unconscious woman. Nothing they were told by Gisele's husband removes their obligation to establish consent. No decent person would ever go ahead without speaking to Gisele first, regardless of any fetish.

The absolute fucking audacity to try and appeal the verdict is mind-blowing. Delighted he got even longer in jail. Poor Gisele having to relive this once again. What a warrior she bloody is.

I see he's not been in jail while the appeal has been ongoing. He can get his arse back to jail and serve his much-deserved time.

Pollqueen · 09/10/2025 17:13

Brilliant outcome. Delusional, arrogant shit. He was out of prison following the trial due to his appeal so he should hopefully now be locked up for a good few years

Janie143 · 09/10/2025 17:18

As if Giselle hasn't suffered enough. So glad the despicable speicimen got extra time as a result

BriceNobeslovesMurielHeslop · 09/10/2025 17:22

I only use this expression about once a year, but today is the day- LOL!

Redshoeblueshoe · 09/10/2025 17:25

Good

JazzyJelly · 09/10/2025 17:38

Excellent! I hope he has a dreadful time in prison.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 09/10/2025 17:38

Hopefully this will prevent any of the other men convinced of rape from trying the same thing.

I was gobsmacked that his defence seemed to be claiming that he believed that the sex was consensual, not rape. The woman was drugged FFS. How stupid does he think the judge/the public are.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 09/10/2025 17:47

Excellent! So pleased with this because it sends a resounding message that consent is important.

Hoping she consents, wishing she’d consent, really really wanting to screw her and hoping she doesn’t mind too much, that she’ll give in, screwing her while she’s asleep, screwing her while she’s drunk, screwing her after you’ve given her something to relax, screwing her because she said ok last week, screwing her when she doesn’t really fancy it but you’ve shown you’ll make her life miserable if she says no, screwing her because you’re horny and she has a short skirt…

All unacceptable. Consent requires actual, you know, consent.

Exactly! I did literally LOL at the news! What a bastard and well done the court / judge / prosecutor for slapping him right back down.

How can any man have the gall after doing that to not accept what he did was wrong - let alone plead victimhood! Honestly.

hholiday · 09/10/2025 17:50

Is it possible in the UK for someone to appeal their sentence and get a longer stretch? It’s very satisfactory, particularly as others have said, when someone is forcing a rape victim through a second court case.

SirEctor · 09/10/2025 17:54

Hahahahahahaha GOOD.

IwantToRetire · 09/10/2025 17:58

Fantastic.

And as said on other thread just truely amazing that she has the strength to turn up.

And he deserves the longer sentence.

Once again Flowers for Giselle.

AgnesX · 09/10/2025 18:02

Thank God the court handed that guy his arse. The sheer arrogance defies belief. Hopefully France will now start to move into the modern age.

GingerPaste · 09/10/2025 18:10

Best news all week!

Funningitup · 09/10/2025 18:15

Yes it can happen in the UK too. The crown court is allowed to increase sentences that are being appealed but only inline with what the maximum could have been.

Not only is it possible but you can request a review!

The Unduly Lenient Sentence (ULS) scheme allows anyone to ask for certain Crown Court sentences to be reviewed by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) if they think the sentence is too lenient.

To have the nerve to stand there in front of Giselle and call himself a victim 🤨 so glad she's been able to know that all these scumbags have been punished for what they did to her

sassyduck · 09/10/2025 19:01

Excellent! Serve him right.

AlicePottery · 09/10/2025 19:02

Chèh

BellissimoGecko · 09/10/2025 19:05

Good. He deserves it.

Gisele - inspirational.
