I’m pretty sure the leading lights of transactual were instrumental in appropriating women’s rights, they were among the misleaders not the mislead.
It’s worth remembering that there have always been some trans identified males who have known they didn’t have the right to use women’s loos and so didn’t do it. Some of them tried to campaign for ‘third spaces’ for the benefit of other trans people - they had a petition which was linked to on the MN petitions&activism board. Of course they were vilified by ‘the LGBT community’ as ‘truscum’ and one (Miranda Yardley) was the subject of an attempted prosecution - by someone who’d describe herself as a ‘cis woman’ - for….transphobia. The case was flung out but it was obviously stressful for him.
So my sympathy for men who claim to think they’ve had rights removed is very limited.

I think I was trying to 'be kind' - and should not have been. It's perhaps because every now and then you twitch slightly and look over your shoulder in case someone shouts 'burn the witch!' Not healthy. I think the onslaught on women's rights was intended, as you say. There was glee at stripping away women's spaces.

I feel sorry for people who were misled into thinking they had rights which in law they did not have. I also feel sorry if they are having problems at work and in their social lives. But it was the misleading as to the law that caused this problem. Had there been advocation for third spaces etc then this would not have happened. I don't wish transpeople ill, I just do not want any men in women's spaces. Now that the law is clear, naturally women feel that they can object to transwomen in their spaces and organisations cannot hide behind company/HR guidelines which were never the law.
Stonewall et al could have done much bettr for transpeople than this. They thought women would roll over and give up rights and we wouldn't.

Trans Reddit UK is starting to wake up to Stonewall, Champion of The Most Marginalised In Society, and (having created a lot of this mess) being utterly AWOL, and the GLP grifting large amounts of cash with fuck all to show for it.

"Y'all." I think it's the American Mr Howse under another name. Using the same debunked and biased bullshit link that he did. They have only one post to their name, and the OP is it. Not returned to reply. Says everything doesn't it. A shit and bolter.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/10/2025 09:39

Howse is an Aussie I think.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 08/10/2025 09:50

He says he is, but he says a lot of things

Yes…for which reason I don’t think he’d plop a thread and leave it.

Posting patterns would back that up.

Helleofabore · 08/10/2025 11:38

Let’s not assume there is just one person behind some of the new user names.

SionnachRuadh · 08/10/2025 14:12

Some of them have... let's say a familiar style, but whatever you can say about Howse, he's not one to plop and run.

Let’s not assume there is just one person behind some of the new user names.

It's fairly obvious who some of them are and it's fairly obvious some are not individuals.

Howse is an Aussie I think.

I think it was established that he's about as Australian as Starmer, on the grounds that he appears to know the square root of sod all about Australia.

GiraffesAtThePark · 08/10/2025 17:09

I read some of the stories on that link. I find it belittling that they reduce everyone down to an identity. It’s “white able bodied cis woman” instead of something more personal like Sarah, 32 from Essex.

I don’t think you were asking about that but that game me the ick

AnastasiaBeeverhausen · 08/10/2025 17:13

I can’t be bothered to read them all but briefly-

It’s a shame for butch masculine looking lesbians or indeed any masculine presenting woman. Perhaps they should direct their ire at the men pretending to be women who have made women far more wary of anyone who does t seem to belong in the ladies.

As for the rest - I don’t care how much further a man has to walk to go to
the gents. Or how feminine he thinks is he looks. He belongs in the men’s with the other men.

Oh, really? Good, because much as I should logically be pleased that money supposedly going towards campaigning to dismantle women's rights is being pissed down the drain, I do actually think GLP's grift is fucking disgusting and cynically exploitative.

It pays one man a huge salary and does fuck all else of note, as far as I can see.

WandaSiri · 09/10/2025 08:59

What are they complaining about? Not "trans" segregation, it's sex segregation. People who claim a trans identity have access to services, facilities and opportunities on the same basis as everyone else. Totally fair.
