James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership on Youth Gender Diversity – Initial survey launch

Prompted by another thread mentioning the apparent bias in the panel for this PSP, here's a link to the survey. It's open to anyone with direct experience of gender diversity. That's a wide net to cast, and it's an open invitation to express the gender critical side of direct experience.

From the website:

The James Lind Alliance is pleased to announce that the Youth Gender Diversity Priority Setting Partnership initial surveys have officially launched as part of their consultation process.

The aim is to hear from people with lived experience, their parents/carers, professionals, and others working in relevant sectors who have direct experience of Gender Diversity:

Let's improve care for young gender diverse people

Online surveys is a powerful, easy to use tool for creating online surveys. Run by Jisc, online surveys is used by over 300 different organisations in the UK...

Biased.

What is your gender? (please tick one box) (optional)

Male
Female
Non-binary
I'm not sure
I prefer not to say
Other (please specify)

OTOH very open-ended questions with very large free text boxes for reply. But will they actually engage with long, detailed, non-affirming responses?

The only people with lived experience of gender diversity that they want to hear from are 18-25yo. What about older people? You know, the ones who grew up and grew out of it. Or even the ones who were affirmed but grew up and realised it’s all a lie and they might as well come to terms with themselves.

Absolutely. It's an awful, biased survey.

But the definition of "family members" or "friends" with direct experience of gender diversity is surely everyone. Especially those of us who grew up and grew out of it. It's desperately important to try to capture that demographic somehow.

So Ive been doing some digging on the James Lind alliance www.jla.nihr.ac.uk/jla-guidebook/chapter-1-James-Lind-Alliance-Methods-and-Principles/Introduction.htm which is actually not an organisation as such but based with University of Southampton school of healthcare, enterprise and innovation

their EDI of course doesn't get the protected characteristics right https://falcon.soton.ac.uk/about/faculties-schools-departments/school-of-healthcare-enterprise-and-innovation

since 2012 Southampton university has also hosted an annual stonewall lecture
