“The council and Bristol’s voluntary sector are part of an ideologically captured, mutually affirming circle, which is so hard to penetrate,”

Hopefully this exposure will help with a break though.

FFS. Why is stating biological fact upsetting but saying men are women isn't. The upset only ever goes one way for them and the fact they can't accept that just shows how blind they are.
How can a party formed to act on climate change which is scientifically proven ignore and flout biology. It sounds as though the GC people are saying what they think quite calmly yet the GI idiots are walking out. It's just as childish as Farage and his loons turning their backs in the EU meetings.

He's not wrong is he? Bristol is run by the Greens who hate women and the charity sector everywhere is completely captured. Throw in Bristol's extensive student population with 2 universities bringing with it a large academic population and we know how captured academia is and really it's the perfect storm. Probably more trans than Brighton now

That's Bristol for you. Run by petulant teenagers.

Gosh, that’s absolutely crazy. It totally underlines the point that despite their protestations to the contrary, they don’t support free speech.

They claim that it’s ok to talk about these issues ‘in a respectful way’ and they aren’t shutting down free speech. Except that it turns out that there is no way to talk about the issues that they deem respectful enough.

It’s a shame the Greens are so focused on this and have given up talking about the environment.

Good, more publicity.

I, and some of my friends, have had to completely step back from my previous (albeit cautious) support of the Greens due to their shocking dishonesty and bullying around women's rights.

They are losing more good supporters than they'll ever know.

In my former life as a lefty do-gooder, Mr McNamara would occasionally have reason to visit our org deep in the hidden w\c parts of Bristol. He would turn up in jeans, tie-less, with a couple of top buttons undone on his shirt, in "hello fellow oiks" kind of way. I've never seen a man more uncomfortable out of a suit.

BUT he was always kind, respectful, and reasonable with residents. And always helpful.

Turns out he's a bloody hero now he's retired. Also interesting that Wendy Stephenson is able to be vocal because she's retired. It's a disgrace that others with GC views will be too scared of losing their jobs to be able to speak out. I thank goodness I no longer have to work with the sector.

What is that picture on Wendy's mug? Zoomed in but it still looks like something a Wallace type person would drink out of. Surely not!

Yes, he's a brilliant and ferociously intelligent lawyer. I've come.actoss him time and again in my career.

Not surprised he's raging about this.
