This recent articles list some of the many other issues. One of which is the forced return of Afghans from Pakistan because of tensions there.

But the article does highlight how this impacts on women and children.

Another aspect which isn't talked about as much is that the harvesting and sale of poppies created a sizeable income for the country.

But the current regime has stopped the cultivation of poppies (which in terms of making opium less available is good) but has has a knock efffect.

I hadn't realised that was an old thread that had been revived (there have been quite a few started over the past couple of years)

Anyhow I saw this which is related, and maybe shows being part of th EU has some drawbacks.
