It was confirmed that SNP Ministers had deleted the line in its trans inclusion policy which allowed staff to use whatever single-sex facilities they were most 'comfortable' in.

The Scottish Government has secretly amended its own internal trans guidance to ban biological men from using female facilities, in a major victory for women's rights campaigners. The SNP Executive was holding out on updating its official guidelines for employees until it had considered the Supreme Court ruling.

There was a major backlash by some within the SNP after the Scottish Parliament became the first public body to update its rules surrounding single-sex facilities to reflect the fact that biological sex cannot be changed. It led to criticism from some SNP MSPs as well as the Scottish Greens.

But now the government has confirmed that it has quietly tweaked its rules for staff. Its trans inclusion policy has had one line deleted to ensure the document is now within the law.

About time!

That is a very nicely phrased article. The BBC should take notes. No 'trans people banned from toilets' or 'anti-trans campaigners' nonsense.

I noted the comment arguing that workplace regulations aren't affected by FWS as they are separate from the Equality Act. Desperate stuff. Don't they predate the GRA by some years? In what alternative history were people writing legislation based on self ID principles in the 90s?

They’ve always been clear haven’t they?

'Shameful' SNP vote to reject attempts to ban biological men from female toilets

The Scottish Government has promised to implement the Supreme Court ruling but the LGBTQ wing of the SNP has won a vote to rail against new guidance which would ensure single-sex services are single-sex.

The party's National Council, which is "the governing and policy-making body of the Party" backed a motion from internal pressure group "Out for Indy."

It is the LGBTQ wing of the Nats, with the group bragging about the fact that its proposals were accepted by the National Council, meaning it will likely become party policy. It raises concerns about the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC)'s updated code of practice for single-sex facilities.
