So the mad Lynsay has been reposting like mad on Bluesky about this post on X, using the image I've posted below.

He and his followers are getting well riled up at this awful Lib Dem. Lynsay posted this with the image:

Bluesky is useless because if one person blocks another, this stops everyone else on Bluesky from reading their replies. Completely destroys conversations because so many people on there block each other.

It may not be that rational. There was a man I interacted with on Twitter a good while back (when it still was actually called that). I think he called himself Sarah Brown. I think he was a Lib Dem as well and ran the LGBT Libs Dems Twitter account.

While it was obvious from some of the things he said that it was a single person running the account and giving opinions that were wholly based on his personal beliefs, he also used “we” all the time. It felt to me like grandiosity. The whole account and all the reactions set off red flags in my head.

There have been studies into the link between personality disorders and claiming a trans identity. Some studies suggested that up to 80% of those claiming to be trans also had some kind of personality disorder, so this shouldn’t surprise us.

The claim that all the mental health problems suffered by those claiming trans identities are because of how the world treats them are false. That claim is used to hide the fact that some people who claim a trans identity find interactions with others difficult because their interactions with others are not reasonable in the first place. The negativity they experience is not always (or even perhaps often) because the other people are unreasonable, but because unreasonable demands are being made.

Anyway OP, thanks for posting about this. It’s a clear demonstration that anyone who appears to take any kind of middle ground is immediately attacked by extremists. The realization they have attacked one of their own will not cause any rethink though. They are too embedded in their claims of victimhood to reflect and change their behaviour.

This is a man who talks about himself in the third person. He probably hides behind it because if he does say something off, it's harder for the police to pin it on him as an individual (remember he knows the law better than most).

Look up the psychological use of talking about yourself in the third person though. It's fascinating. Can of worms...

Anything which raises a clash of rights is 'you want to eliminate us'.

No, I'm very happy for you to live as a trans woman if that's what makes you happy. But that is entirely different from asking us to believe you are a biological woman and that magical changes have occurred.

The goalposts were changed in this from supporting people to live as how they identify to asking us to identify dogs as cats.

We can all go back to reasonable if we start from a position of reality but it has to be the starting point or there's no chance of anything constructive.
