Thank you, great points here. Protect the dolls is such a mental slogan.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 20/09/2025 19:37

Thanks for the link, another article highlighting the grossness of this ideology.
The 'Dolls' thing all ways reminds me of Berdof, the man the UN made the Women's Champion for the UK, he always strikes me as a blow up sex doll of a women. 🤮

Shocking article, even for me, who imagines that I'm aware of what's going on.

Not even close 😳.

Datun · 20/09/2025 21:13

Armies of developers like Rice are paid to sustain users’ attention, to keep them online, and thus to pull them away from who they are, locking them into niche fetishes that can never be realized with a real person.

Absolutely ruining generations of teens.

Datun · 20/09/2025 21:41

Very shocking article. I think most of us knew this was a men's sexual rights movement and fetishisation is at his heart, but that article lays it bear in a way that is very raw.

I am very bloody glad, however, that the underlying pornographic bedrock of this entire issue is coming to the fore.

it's about bloody time.

SionnachRuadh · 20/09/2025 21:54

The one thing I don't get - because old school pornographers were always about the bottom line, which meant most porn was vanilla because that's where most of the audience was, and the niche fetishes stayed niche - is this evangelical attitude of "hey, let's turn the youngsters on to weirder and weirder fetishes".

It seems very strange to me. Maybe it's relevant that Pornhub is a Canadian company.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 20/09/2025 22:27

A very revealing article isn't it?
The damage that's been done to the young by this ideology is off the scale.

That's actually simple to answer. Before the Internet arrived, you had to sell to the main market, anything else was guaranteed to lose money. But when the Internet arrived, there was gold in something called the long tail of Internet commerce. Suddenly there was a great deal of money to made from selling to niche interests, even ones that were ultra-niche.

It parallels how holding extreme views meant that rather than being isolated, a very odd person would find thousands of similarly odd people around the globe having those same views.

fabricstash · 21/09/2025 08:04

Great article. I sadly know people caught up via this route

Gabbycat245 · 21/09/2025 09:09

Fantastic article. Absolutely frightening, but incredibly revealing.

Shortshriftandlethal · 21/09/2025 10:25

Maybe partially explains why so many gay men are only too eager to affirm or encourage trans identities in other men. A way to sublimate their own 'sissy' fantasies, perhaps?
