Nothing new, really, just infuriating and sad.

I'm sure misogyny is involved, but men in prison are also abused if medically vulnerable, for example by withholding necessary dental treatment or cancer treatment.

It just seems like bullying the weak for the sake of it.

Born in chains

Prisons abandon women to give birth alone – at great risk to their lives, and those of their babies.

Stuff like this is why I'm a member of the Howard League.

It’s horrific.

What happened to Labour's plans to reform prison and look into pregnant women in custody? Not heard much more on that.

They should discuss it at the Labour Women's Conference.

Oh, wait....

ETA are you currently a dinosaur in honour of David Lammy, or did I miss something?

What an enraging article:
"the MoJ has made limited progress on its Female Offender Strategy, a 2018 initiative to improve outcomes for women in the criminal justice system, because it has not prioritised investment in this work"

If all the ££ the trans captured Home Office / MoJ have spent on pandering to the demands of the stream of paedophiles, murderers, sex offenders all claiming to be women, was redirected to pregnant women and babies in prison, this could have been resolved.
Instead endless hours of policies, plans, special treatment, meetings etc all adding up to hundreds of thousands of £££ has been spent on men while as ever this exceptionally vulnerable group of women are ignored.
