It's a pretty eye-opening thread. She's been harassed, threatened with violence, had her children threatened - by the same people who have now got Graham Linehan in court.

But have the police done anything to stop SEVEN years of stalking, harassment, and violent threats ?

Do I really need to answer that ...?

I don't agree with much of what K-JK says about some other aspects of current politics, and I am sceptical of the current accusation of "two-tier poloicing" but this is something else.

No, we need to stop the institutions being so damn unfair and corrupt. What I would say, is that they aren’t systematically incompetent and unfair- they are selective as to who they target- which is itself the issue.

Sorry I’m confused. How do we do that without calling out the unfairness and corruption? My brain is tired - am I misunderstanding?

I read this thread the other day and was horrified. I had no idea it had been so bad.

I suspect he’s quieter now that Pink News has been sued by the indomitable and fantastic Julie Bindel, and had to pay up, and then there were the of sexism and sexual harassment brought against the editor/owners. I have a friend who says she's a feminist but still doesn't get what has been happening, when I try to explain, she's still in the 'be kind' ignorance zone not realising how so many of these men are evil and aggressive. It's easy not to be aware of the aggression, the autogynephelia, the genre of porn that is transvestives getting off of wanking in women's public toilets, etc etc.

In Ireland the 2015 legistation says that women become legal men, in 2018 women get a right to abortion. A woman with a GRC can still grow babies and any medic who helps her an otherwise legal abortion face a prison term. She too looses her legal protection. She looses her right to free pregency and female cancer care etc. She is committing welfare fraud if paid state funded maternity care.

If sent to prison she must be managed as a male or lie to the judge and prison authority.

And it was a woman who was campaigning to have the word woman removed from womens health care. The people in charge of cervical cancer testing service were in court fighting women (dying & with no cervix due to their flawed testing) while deciding the organisation should not be for women but rather be about people with a cervix.

For law and life the words matter as woman is a classification which looses meaning if men are included.

Yes @AnSolas - this came up in the ForWomenScotland Supreme Court case: it's quite shocking. If the SC had decided that men with a GRC were "women" in all ways, and that legally-conferred gender trumped sex, the consequences for women with GRCs (ie presenting as men) would have been catastrophic.

They would have lost all & any sex-based rights they had. As @AnSolas outlines above is the case in the RoI.

Once again, men's desires trying to take rights from women.
