Trans women at risk of female genital mutilation, claims College of Policing

IwantToRetire · 07/09/2025 20:10

New policing guidelines issued by the taxpayer-funded quango state that trans women could be forced to undergo female genital mutilation, despite them being biologically male.

The suggestion that they might be forced to suffer mutilation specifically intended for young girls has been branded as “insulting” to victims.

Female genital mutilation, which is illegal in the UK, includes the removal of the labia, clitoris and the almost total sealing of the vagina.

The College of Policing’s claims appear in guidance for officers investigating “honour-based abuse”, which sets out details of female genital mutilation protection orders, which are court orders officers can seek to protect potential victims.

The guidance introduced in August states that “as well as women and girls”, these orders protect “any other person who has female genitalia… and is at risk of harm from these practices and procedures”.

This includes “intersex, non-binary, trans men and women, with or without a gender recognition certificate”.

Um... But hold on...
FGM involves the labia, and if you're born male you don't HAVE labia, so...

I cannot fathom the stupidity that came up with this. I'm starting to believe it's just trolling. F*ing weirdos.

It is the logical conclusion of TWAW. That it leads to mindnumbing stupidity is neither here nor there as long as all the i's are dotted by bureaucratic morons who think they are following legislation.

I'm sure there was a thread about an amazing woman who was working to help end FGM and help the victims. She was getting a lot of abuse from tras because she wasn't inclusive of tw. Why would she be, unlike the CoP she knows what a woman is.

My memory of the thread isn't very good I'm afraid.

I know Harry Miller, of Fair Cop, lays much of the fuckwittedness of the Police around gender at the door of the CoP. He might be onto something.

Think you’re probably thinking of Hibo Wardere who had an online pile on from a load of TRAs that she wasn’t being trans (women) inclusive in her campaigning.

She is an incredible woman and took no shit from them whatsoever.

borntobequiet · 08/09/2025 04:24

These people are unbelievably stupid.

Frankly, now that both the Cass Report AND the Guyatt Review, along with others, found that there is no significant evidence that medical interventions for children experiencing gender dysphoria have any benefit, wouldn't a phalloplasty actually be considered honor-based abuse? If a parent and doctor move forward with this kind of practice - knowing the immensely high risk of serious complications, plus knowing now that it likely won't have the intended outcome - what else could compel them to move forward except their strong cultural and quasi-religious beliefs? I ask this in all seriousness.

Belief based genital mutilation

I wouldnt want to drop fgm though after all the work that’s been put into that. an over arching term for both sexes and the context of trans belief could be BGM

Theswiveleyeballsinthesky · 08/09/2025 06:57

Lord Herbert chair of the college of policing since 2021. of course being a gay man nick doesn't have to deal with the consequences of TWAW and the other misogyny propounded by the police

Reading the article makes me so mad, and I’m sure there are some delusional blokes out there reading it with their bad wigs and 6 inch nails scratching their chin and thinking “hmm yes, that sounds about right, I AM at risk from FGM”.
I thought most of them were fully aware they were male, so language misuse aside, they must know they’re not at risk from FGM?! Being male is literally the only criteria for being a trans woman. We’re constantly told that you don’t have to dress femininely or shave your beard or use a female name to be a TW. Literally the one criteria is male. How can they then be at risk of FEMALE genital mutilation?!

lcakethereforeIam · 08/09/2025 09:32

Reading this in the context of the recent threads about Dr Hopper and the amputation/castration fetishes is turning my stomach. There will definitely be blokes getting off on the the thought of FGM; being subjected to it, performing it 🤢

Iamnotalemming · 08/09/2025 10:05

Just when I thought I couldn't be more shocked or repulsed, some fresh hell is published by another public institution.

Who on earth came up with this tripe?

Yup.
And presumably some of them are senior officers in the police / working at the College of Policing judging by these policies that they endorse?

FGM involves more than the labia. There's also Clitoridectomy, Excision and Infibulation.
They are incredibly horrific to read about, so red-flag-sensitivity-alert for anyone researching the grotesque details of FGM for the first time.

They would be horrific if done under proper surgical conditions, which they usually are not.

It is important to be aware of the radical nature of the mutilation involved in FGM - while there are valid arguments against the circumcision of boys, the mutilation of girls' bodies is orders of magnitude more damaging - nearer in equivalence to badly-performed castration than circumcision.

Brings back memories of the Greens and Challenor. The College of Policing is determined to make its ideological capture fully explicit, no matter what the cost to their own reputation nor public confidence in policing.

At the same Spring 18 conference Aimee #Challenor (with Molly Arthurs, NB, and Teresa Ravenshaw, trans) put forward motions to remove the word 'female' from Green Party constitution, turning mechanisms created to tackle sexism into trans promoting mechanisms

And at same Spring 18 conference the words 'women and girls' were removed from text about female genital mutilation and changed to 'a person maybe subject to FGM', to hide the fact that this is crime that happens to women and girls because of our SEX.

Always females they're trying to erase, isn't it? Never males.

Same shit, different day and a different label.

I read an article recently about a month old (so ca. 4 weeks) baby girl who died after being genitally mutilated. It was in The Gambia.

1 month old!

Timeforabitofpeace · 08/09/2025 11:46

Good. I hope everyone’s genitals are protected, ffs. Have you gone bonkers? This is NOT feminism as we worked hard to create it in my generation.

So slightly older than a Jewish baby facing circumcision. 🙁I used to teach a little Turkish boy whose circumcision happened when he was seven, the family made a huge fuss of him, he had a party, lots of presents, but he still walked around for two weeks holding out the front of his trackie bottoms so they wouldn’t touch his mutilated little Willy.

Male circumcision and female genital mutilation have obvious similarities, and there are valid arguments against non-medically-necessary male circumcision, but as I said in my earlier post, there are orders of magnitude of seriousness between them.

I feel sorry for that poor little boy who had a very uncomfortable two weeks inflicted on him.

FGM lasts a lifetime - if you survive it.

I think FGM deserves to be discussed and condemned in and of itself, without reference to male circumcision.

Cailleach1 · 08/09/2025 19:28

There can be such misery caused day in, day out for girls who have had FGM inflicted upon them. Apart from the pain, and nerve pain thereafter, If it is the most extreme kind, there can be an endless cycle of recurring urinary tract infections. Menstruation can be affected, as the there can be obstruction so the flow is slow, and blood can pool. Infections again. Girl/woman has to be cut open on her wedding night. Childbirth downright dangerous for mother and baby. Just a scarred mess of flesh.

The discussion of foreskin removal for boys, if done in hospital and heals, is not comparable to the absolute butchery carried out on the bodies of girls. I’m not saying I agree with it, but I think there is a separate discussion to be had on foreskin removal being carried out on boys. FGM affects the very functioning of a woman’s body, and is a life sentence of unrelenting physical misery for the poor girls in a way it isn’t for boys. I don’t know what wicked person first thought ‘lets mutilate our daughters and make their life on earth an absolute misery’.

The best of us may complain at times about our parents, but when this topic comes up, I think at least they didn’t intentionally butcher their daughters’ bodies, and sentence us to such lifelong physical suffering.

Health risks of female genital mutilation

All forms of FGM are associated with increased health risk in the short- and long-term.

FGM is most likely to occur between the age of 0-15 and within highly traditional African communities. Is the College so ignorant that it believes that those at risk will be affirmed in their trans identity at all, let alone to the extent that everyone would be confused as to whether or not to mitigate them? ? Do they think the parents might not be able to tell which sex their child is?

Their ignorance about the communities involved is staggering.

Yes. They really are that ignorant.

RayonSunrise · 09/09/2025 09:08

I suspect all the “…and also all the trans people” stuff was shoehorned in at the 11th hour by an EDI manager who’s trying to hit some sort of performance target. How do we complain?

Gender neutralising everything really does erase what happens only to women doesn't it?
