Turns out there's video evidence it was already broken. Police were protecting him playing loud music.

Police investigate possible damage to an old umbrella...

Further comment would be superfluous🙄

BundleBoogie · 06/09/2025 21:25

Oh wow - he looks like a highly unpleasant individual and the police are protecting him?? He looks unbelievably smug.

They say he had a right to peaceful protest but a) he wasn’t remotely peaceful and may have caused hearing issues for some of the women and b) he prevented the women from holding their event. How is this remotely ok?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/09/2025 21:35

I think if you did a poll of the general population, they would say they want the police to investigate all of the following:
Murder and unexplained deaths
GBH
Arson
Sexual assault
Burglary
Muggings
Drug crimes
Fraud
Dangerous driving
Shoplifting
Vandalism
Other forms of anti-social behaviour

Going in mob-handed to talk to someone about hurtie words and/or a damaged umbrella wouldn't make the cut.

Boiledbeetle · 06/09/2025 21:39

I honestly don't know what the fuck Tom's problem is. Maybe he gets a boner every time he pisses a woman off.

I'm just trying to imagine Susan purposefully breaking his sodding broken brolly.

As if.

I on the other hand would have been tempted to shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

INeedAPensieve · 06/09/2025 22:43

This is the same Tom who shouted abuse at sexual assault and rape survivors going to the Filia conference in Glasgow isn't it? Who the then first minister Humza released a statement about saying was unacceptable? Too far even for Humza.

Additionally he permanently features in a video display at the Burrell museum in Glasgow. Despite being well known for his abuse of women and blatant misogyny.

I hate my country so much now because of this utter lunacy. He's given a platform and carte blanche to do what he likes including abusing women and because he dresses up in make up and does drag and burlesque it makes him edgy and therefore a fine candidate for exhibitions at museums or children's stuff. The scottish arts crowd, politicians and police have lost their minds. This man is abusive and threatening towards women. Yet he's untouchable. It's the same that's going on with all those tras over in the glinner threads. Despite all their abuse, threats and illegal activities they have the police and politicians onside. It's a disgrace.

Using amplified sound to obstruct speech is intimidation, it's the tactic of cowards, well the WFS won't be cowered, the gross little man is not going to win.
More proof that the Police Service has turned itself into the hired muscle for the goon squad, they're not going to win either.

This 100%.
I have personal reasons for hating and despising the Met. police. A couple of them are on that list.

Come on now, BundleBoogie. Tom occasionally enjoys wearing woman-face, he's one of the stunning and braves, therefore he must be treated with kid gloves and silly things like rules and laws don't apply to him.

So much this.

He and his Cabaret Of Hate were also at the LWS event in Glasgow a few weeks ago, also with the amplifier and accompanied by (I think from what I could see) the fragrant Sarah Jane Baker.

He really can't stand women he doesn't agree with having the temerity to speak and is a fud of the highest order, so it's no surprise he's lauded by the great and the good up here.

Oh yes, silly me - Smuggy McSmugface is free to harass and intimidate women as much as he likes and the police will do his every bidding.

Scottish police not covering themselves in glory right now.

The headline is brilliant

Drag queen tells police a gender critic broke his rainbow umbrella

JustAnotherFunday · 07/09/2025 16:02

Unfortunately the headline is misleading. It implies someone went up to a random bloke and smashed up their rainbow umbrella.

Or I suppose a drag queen kindly lent their rainbow umbrella and the gender critic rudely returned it broken.

I have to also admit I have a tad a dirty mind and "rainbow umbrella" sounds like a euphemism.

borntobequiet · 07/09/2025 16:13

It only needs the continuation

…while using it to cruelly flog his magical unicorn.

Seriestwo · 07/09/2025 17:04

I thought Tom did Boyle-esque. I don’t think he does drag, he’ll be unhappy about being misrepresented. Im sure he’ll get over it.

MSPs have demanded Police Scotland's Chief Constable make an urgent statement on the policing of a noisy protest that disrupted a rally by For Women Scotland (FWS) outside the Scottish Parliament.

<a class="break-all" href="https://archive.vn/2025.09.09-181134/www.heraldscotland.com/news/25453764.police-chief-urged-respond-fws-holyrood-protest-row?ref=twtrec" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://archive.vn/2025.09.09-181134/www.heraldscotland.com/news/25453764.police-chief-urged-respond-fws-holyrood-protest-row/?ref=twtrec

Why did Police Scotland permit that proximity, why did they fail to act when safe limits were breached and what steps will be taken to ensure that women exercising their democratic rights here are properly protected in future?

There was a LWS event in my city a few months ago and TRAs tried to interruot it with loud music etc.

Our local constabulary told them to turn it off.

It could well be the same person. He often turns up to LWS events to disrupt them.

Edited

Couldn't read the article, even on the archive web site, but I'm glad that the incident is getting some publicity, the picture of the nutter sitting in his chair while the police stood around guarding him, is bad optic's for Police Scotland. The Chief Constable is going to have to give a very good explanation to explain it away.

JaquelineHide · 10/09/2025 08:47

His name is Tom Harlow and his obnoxious soundsystem is Cabaret Against The Hate Speech

JaquelineHide · 10/09/2025 09:43

More discussion between MSPs. It's good to see some support for women at last (this is a thread of comments from various MSPs.)
