SEEN in Journalism has just started its new podcast, and the first episode is up. There's lots there about editorial decision making at the BBC. Enjoy!

No fear. No favour. Our new podcast.

Journalism should be fearless — and free of favour. This podcast is about holding the line.

Thank you for this.
I've been so impressed with their coverage and exposure of the BBC and other news outlets for their entrenched bias.

Love this!

I went to subscribe and download but it’s not coming up when I search my pocketcast app, will it be available there at some point?

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/09/2025 16:03

Loved this!

Refreshing. But I was a little sorry that three women are presenting - I'd hoped that some of their male colleagues might have been equally interested in integrity in the media. Let's hope we hear from them in future episodes.

NutellaEllaElla · 07/09/2025 06:34

Someone is complaining, in the feminism sub forum, that the hosts are all women. wtf.

Olderbadger1 · 07/09/2025 19:07

Not a complaint aimed at the women but at the men who appear to lack their courage.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 09/09/2025 10:16

That was a very good listen. Good to hear 3 informed intelligent women working in the BBC evidencing how it lost its way so profoundly over this issue.

Keenovay · 09/09/2025 12:47

I heartily recommend this and look forward to future episodes. It was so interesting to hear how news is gathered and put together, and the chilling effect of TRA colleagues in your department.

The main takeaway for me was that the BBC will not be in the vanguard of any change - they are very cautious and more of a weathervane. Change will come from other institutions as they de-transify from Stonewall law.

I had to subscribe via Substack. Which is a pain because I can't see how to download podcasts on Substack - I only seem to be able to stream them, which eats up data when I am on the move. Any advice appreciated!

That was a great listen. I think we all know which LGBT correspondent they refer to. It’s also cathartic to hear they don’t appreciate the endless drag queen stories either!

I don’t know if something changed but I found it on the pocketcast app today.

Bumping this as the most recent episode with Susan Smith was really excellent. She is such an incredible woman, and so clear and articulate.

It was such an interesting listen wasn't it. So depressing that FWS have to return to the courts as the Scottish government still refuse to comply with the law.

So pleased they're making these podcasts.

BananaramaDefence · 06/10/2025 15:46

I loved the first episode and this has reminded me to look for follow up ones so thanks.

It was great. I am so so grateful to Susan Smith and the other FWS ladies for everything they have done for women in this country. And I liked the 'Mumsnet to the Supreme Court' movie pitch 😄

fabricstash · 06/10/2025 21:38

This podcast is great and I want to see FWS the film!

Docugirl · 19/10/2025 20:08

Paddy O'Gorman is interviewed on today's episode. Shocking that the Irish media has ignored what's happening in Ireland.

ItsCoolForCats · 10/01/2026 16:35

The latest episode is with Prof Robert Winston. I haven't seen much from him since his Question Time appearance in 2021, so I'm looking forward to this episode. On Substack but should be on Spotify etc. shortly
