This is a nice daily puzzle, always has relevant quotes relating to a particular historical event, theme day etc. Thought today's was worth sharing with you lovely wims!

I figured out the quote fairly soon, but couldn't see a way to get the whole thing written except by tapping the letters in the grid.

You do just need to put all the words in using the grid, is that what you mean? It's just if you identify the quote early on you will get a higher accuracy score because you can just use the words you know are in the quote rather than other random words too. Is that what you mean?

I normally go for speed rather than accuracy although figuring out the quote obviously helps with that too!

Incidentally, for anyone interested, I believe it was developed in Edinburgh. I first saw it on the EGG Facebook group.

Thanks @guinnessguzzler - that was what I meant.

I’ve had to come looking for the thread to find today’s puzzle. It seems I’m hooked!

guinnessguzzler · 04/09/2025 07:06

Yes, it's definitely my favourite daily puzzle now. Today's is a pretty good one too!

I got today’s very quickly as soon as I hit my first 4 letter word 🤣. A very familiar quote in our house.

Yes, I'm not surprised given your username!

Argh I can't get it to work! Is there a video showing how to do it?
I am often foxed by this type of puzzle though, but I would like to join in!

Pudmyboy · 04/09/2025 10:19

Okay, got it! I thought you just had to fill in the blank spaces, not identify the whole word!
Good ol' Terry!

guinnessguzzler · 04/09/2025 10:26

Glad you got it working @Pudmyboy The one from yesterday was a feminist quote but sadly once the day has passed I don't think you can access it again. I had to screenshot the time when they Rick rolled everyone to send to a few people who missed it!

@LizzieSiddal Yes, sorry, it's probably not great for everyone. The quote yesterday was, 'I am woman, hear me roar, in numbers too big to ignore', which seemed apt! Don't think I'm spoilering it as I don't think you can access previous puzzles, although there is a 'vault' with some extra ones in. Not that I'm obsessed or anything.
