<a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/o/TT5l1/www.heraldscotland.com/topics/for-women-scotland/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">For Women Scotland and Scottish Lesbians have condemned a ‘litany of smears’ made against them by publicly funded Equality Network boss Dr Rebecca Don Kennedy.
<a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/o/TT5l1/www.heraldscotland.com/news/25413097.equality-chief-i-not-fight-trans-rights-hurt-women/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">In an exclusive interview with the Herald on Sunday last week, the charity boss said the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of a woman had created a “mess”, while also accusing critics of gender reform of being “hateful” and influenced by the “MAGA rhetoric”.
But the leading organisations have now hit back at the remarks and demanded the Equality Network chief executive spells out who the criticism was aimed at.
The Equality Network is 89% funded through grants and received £465,258 in public funds last year.
For Women Scotland is the organisation behind the landmark Supreme Court judgment, which ruled that the terms "man", "woman" and "sex" were based on biological sex in the Equality Act 2010.

Last Sunday’s <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/o/pU63O/www.heraldscotland.com/news/25413097.equality-chief-i-not-fight-trans-rights-hurt-women/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">interview with Rebecca Don Kennedy, CEO of the Equality Network in Neil Mackay's Big Read contains a litany of smears aimed at ordinary women who understand the reality of biological sex.
Indeed, the interview contains so many inaccuracies that we cannot address them in the space of one letter. As a campaigning lesbian organisation, and one of the intervening parties who supported For Women Scotland in their recent Supreme Court case, we would like to focus on those points which are particularly pertinent to lesbians.
