Dangers of puberty blockers on kids

Hi all,
I just saw a post on Facebook which has infuriated me. It was an Irish man posting about an Irish politician. I am delighted he's speaking out about the issue (see post below) but some of the replies are maddening. People are saying puberty blockers are fine etc.

Here's his post and fair play to him for speaking out!
Our ex-Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee, is now our Minister for Education.
She wants a bigger push on trans education within the junior-cycle school curriculum.
Her husband, Paul Hickey, is a senior executive at AbbVie, a puberty blocker manufacturing company which used on ‘trans-children’.
It’s time REAL parents spoke up about the agenda being rolled out on our youngest and most vulnerable by people with evil motives.
It’s all about tolerance right?
No, wake up, children are not sexual beings. They don’t need a flag that identifies adult sexual identity in their classrooms.
They don’t need puberty blockers before their minds and body’s have developed.

Some of the maddening replies acting like he's a religious nutter ( thanks to Enoch Burke for that association) and saying that puberty blockers are a way for kids to 'pause and decide what they want to do with no adverse effects'!!!! For fucks sake.
I know that puberty blockers can cause sterility, osteoporosis of the spine and probably other issues but I want to be confident in my reply if I ever have to deal with this shit in front of someone. Has anyone any more info off the top of their heads or know any sources of information? I get so annoyed at people confidently stating these harmful opinions and I want to be calm and prepared if anyone says it to me.

Thanks.

Why don't politicians have to declare a conflict of interest? It reminds me of Theresa May's husband being linked to arms suppliers.
This Irish politician shouldn't be put in a position where she can potentially further her husbands company.

I know, it all seems very suspect!
