If you can find it on SubStack the comments are hysterical. Some people not getting it is satire!

😂😂😂 Judith Butler is nothing more than a pontificating producer of word salad.
The patriarchy raise certain women up to make us think we're breaking through do they? What a load of utter shite.

monkeyspaw · 29/08/2025 10:23

Well, they both have the same level of incoherence and babblespeak.
Really, they're the same person, they both hate women. Just one is orange and male and the other is pale and female.

Also, forgot to point out that both will say whatever gets them the most cookies and streamers.

Thanks Tayto! That was funny.

TempestTost · 29/08/2025 10:32

Haha ha.

The absurdity of a wc guy who, had he been real, would have come from a place like Roger Moore's Flint, talking about how the system was set up to favour him while oppressing Hilary Clinton, is extreme.

Though I suspect that plenty would not be able to see that.

There are all sorts of objections one may have to Trump, but you can't deny he has amazing comic delivery. Sometimes when Trump is speaking, I close my eyes and I could be listening to Leslie Nielsen.

Butler will never be anything other than unintentionally funny.

Crouton19 · 29/08/2025 10:54

😂😆 brilliant!

MyAutumnalCrow · 29/08/2025 10:55

Oh god I laughed out loud at ‘… Judith Butler!’

Thank you.

I used to be unsure how much of that was intentional. Since Bill Maher went to dinner with him though, and reported that he spoke in a normal way, had normal conversations, and even accepted without worry that he had lost the previous election, I tend to think it is a deliberate persona. And a well done one too.

V funny I found it on YouTube- hadn’t heard of onion before

It always blows my mind that Leslie Nielsen's brother was Deputy PM of Canada. I like to think that influenced Leslie's ability to keep a straight face in the most ridiculous situations.

It's very easy to get the wrong impression about Trump if you only experience him through main stream, largely hostile, media. I'm highly critical of Trump the man, and Trumpism as a collection of policies. But Trump himself is highly intelligent with a robust grasp of national and international situations. (Again I often disagree with his analysis and prescriptions, but they are not random, or unintelligent, although his positions can sometimes be eccentric e.g. tariffs)

It was highly disorienting to me when I peaked to discover that many of the of the things that made the trans debate so pernicious - social media censorship, international bodies like WPATH, institutional capture, ideology driven medical research, cancel culture, no debate, etc. - were things thing that he had been campaigning against for years, though in a somewhat transposed fashion, i.e. the swamp and fake news. The last several years have been a real political eye-opener, and I always prided myself on staying up on current events.

Loved it! Almost made reading Butler worth it.

Bit disappointed there was nothing about Butler's concept of phantasmatic projections onto male penises.

Probably cos that bit was aimed at us TETFy women in need of psychoanalysis.

SinnerBoy · 29/08/2025 17:58

Oh, I thought you meant Gerard Butler. As you were!

To be fair, we have a system that allowed Bill Clinton and Joe Biden, both from working class roots, to become president but not Hillary.
