A thread on the TransUK reddit about the 'trans' met police constable recently convicted of rape against various children has elicited this comment *I'm not convinced some of these people are even trans.* *They seem like mentally ill malignant narcissists who think they'll get special treatment for it. It's 1000% sus how so many people suddenly become trans during the trial and sentencing. It's almost like they're just evil men wanting to get out of serving their full harsh term that they deserve, around other men.* *Also hoping for the ability to SA more women.* *SOME, mind you.* It's like they so so nearly get the point, and then at the last minute, just ... don't.

What's the most bougie luxury belief I can hold right now?
Probably something pet-related. Maybe about supporting the right of trans cats wanting to access bird sanctuary aviaries because obviously we should believe cats when they tell us they are absolutely definitely completely birds trapped in cats' bodies and nothing at all bad could possibly happen if we affirmed them and helped them transition by giving them beak masks and clip-on wings (and obviously no one would be able to spot a cat beneath this cunning disguise and we could even pretend that any rules excluding cats from bird spaces would unfairly affect owls who clearly have sticky up bits that look slightly like cat ears).

Or giving labradoodles access to every space ever forever because they are obviously a nonbinary breed, being simultaneously both and neither poodle and labrador. Especially when labradoodles identify as chefs and therefore want unfettered access to all the food. It's literal genocide to deny labradoodles tiny chef hats and aprons.

Very good point about the owls. Watch out for the YouTube videos where they're boo-wooing in hollow trees about those nasty finches who thought they were a cat.

I wish I could agree with that but I had this discussion with my sister years ago and she agreed that perhaps prisons and sports should be an exception to unpoliced TWAW. She's still 100% a TRA though. She was talking about leaving her job because of how impossible life is there for trans people (she's not trans and as far as I can tell the only difficulty she has encountered is no free rainbow lanyards anymore. Trans people will maybe, at some point in the future, have to use gender neutral toilets). She's a very intelligent person and I love her deeply but on this she is so far out of my orbit that I can't even see her.

@IrnBruAndDietCoke Knowing cats, as I do, I'm amazed they haven't tried this yet, now you mention it. They would definitely get away with it too, mainly because they are so cute. I just still don't quite understand how the blokes did.

It does feel like people are starting to wake up though.

I think at its heart the TRA movement is a mens rights movement. I think they are savvy enough to know that going all out to support rapists won’t do them any favours so it’s suggested thst these exceptions are just bad actors.

I bet stonewall at some point thought they were on to a winner and I wonder if there just hadn’t been any incidents for a few years/ rapists in pink legging then self ID would of gotten through ?

Many "tru trans" people share the same views as gender-critical people - that sex is real and sometimes it matters. They believe so strongly that being a woman (or man) is about what bodily characteristics you have - and not "who you are inside" - that they undergo risky physical surgery to demonstrate this view.

It's not unusual for them to agree with gc views - they would likely just not be honest about it when asked.

Mixed. A lot of “nobody should be able to claim trans after assaulting a child or murdering someone” (sometimes invoking a curious choice of crimes, but, ok) combined with a lot of “once we let the TERFs draw any line at all it will be used against us, absolutely everyone no matter how heinous must have their chosen gender affirmed by all”.

Also some contributors pointing out the no true Scotsman fallacy to each other.

And, some “why does anyone care about the trans status of this criminal”.
