possibly unjustified optimism on my part but even the staunchest of staunch trans allies must surely draw the line in the case of a rapist who only started to transition after he'd been caught?

"Oh FFS
Obviously I hope that Gwyn is happy, but I do wish people would stop transitioning just after they’ve committed some heinous sex crime.

Why the fuck do they hope a child abuser is happy?

You should take a look at that Reddit thread. Those comments are being attacked and downvoted, even from trans people.

They hope someone who raped a woman and sexually assaulted a twelve-year-old girl is HAPPY?

And the "oh FFS" is for the fact that this will reflect poorly on the trans community, not for the sexual abuse?

Instructive, isn't it.

Yes, @FuzzyPuffling , Gwyn is the male form, and Gwen the female, traditionally. Wonderfully ironic, isn't it?

OMG is he identifying as Welsh?! We don't want him!

😟

Well that’s about the size of it, isn’t it. The married TIMs often seem to copy their wives’ clothing, hair and jewellery choices.

It’s all just pretending to be someone else.

All too often it seems to be the plot of Single White Female, only with a bloke playing the Jennifer Jason Leigh part.

Heh! So true! I remember that; good film.

Jesus Christ.

Yesterday Bubb appeared in the witness box dressed in a blue-and-white patterned dress and a black cardigan. During evidence the officer suggested that the child could "flip the switch" and make disparaging remarks about the defendant's gender identity. On one occasion the child said: "[You're] always going to be a man in a dress."
The officer added: "That's not something a caring person would do."
Richard Milne, for the prosecution, asked: "Are you seriously suggesting you were being abused by [the child]?"
The defendant replied: "That was the crux ... I struggled to come forward. I was a serving police officer who worked with domestic abuse officers in the Met. I was older than the person who was abusing me ... Yes, I am saying the child abused me. It's so hard to admit that."

Bloody hell. What can you say about these people?

TotalElephant · 29/08/2025 02:45

@ZoeCM wow. I have no words for that. Seriously disturbing. I hope the children didn't have to give evidence and be cross examined if that's the line of defence he was taking.

The Reddit thread about this is mad. There are a few comments saying he's pretending to be trans for an easier time in prison as he is a paedophile and a police officer so will be a massive target. The rebuttals to those comments are along the lines of "if you gatekeep for [him] then that opens the door to gatekeeping for all of us". Maybe a few trans identifying men have started to climb the peak today...

somethingnewandexciting · 29/08/2025 02:48

That article yes, the one I read earlier in BBC app didn't mention it at all.

Wow.
The child knew though. This isn't about how he wants to be a woman, it's about he wants to pretend he is a woman for sexual kicks while he abuses that child, as a man with a penis. Weirdly proud of the child for being strong enough to say that to him at such a traumatic time.

Women have been vilified and cancelled by transactivists for objecting to male serial killers, serial rapists, paedophilic murderers and, IIRC, a man who beheaded a woman being placed in women's prisons. Most of them transitioned after arrest or imprisonment. There is literally nothing these men could do that would make the risk they pose to women objectionable to the TRA lobby. Despite the level of men transitioning once in the criminal justice system, the activists and the captured institutions jackboot a kind of suicidal naivety onto the proceedings whereby only vicious, bigoted possible Nazis would ever assume a man would identify as a woman just to get an easier time of it in prison, or to gain access to future victims or just to be fucking awkward and play power-games. The enforced gullibility is one of the most loathsome things about all this.

What the actual fuck?

so the child he raped told him he was a man, that hurt his feelings so he now claims HE was being abused, I hope to god the judge called the victim blaming fucker out

this is why these c*nts should be made to stand trial in court issued clothing not dresses.

obviously if they take that approach it seals the deal around accessing toilets etc. so many won’t agree.

As it’s clear we have no idea who is a rapist or not. Ergo, no males in female spaces.

They are quite in a pickle here.

WarriorN · 29/08/2025 09:03

This Bubb guy is clearly the MASTER of manipulation and abusive DARVO.

And the fact that he was a police officer.

How do these blokes get through the screening process?

somethingnewandexciting · 29/08/2025 09:17

Does anyone else strongly feel that if we made it clear that we would not "respect their gender of choice" if they are convicted of any crime they might actually find that more distressing? It seems to be the only thing they see as an injustice, their own ego being hit. Why are we still pandering to them? Why are we still legally allowing men to turn into "women" to escape restrictions on where they live and make the crime ours? I am so angry that men have found loopholes around the system of law, yet women STILL can't even get maintenance payments from fathers to support their children.
