Jesus, is nowhere safe from this shit?

I hope JKR’s lawyers are cracking our their very best “terse letter” pens this morning.

Whoever said your queen was right-wing?
I think you might be getting confused again.

Mind you, she ain't exactly a Democrat either, so there's that. Personally, I could care less about her. Just going by what's online about her and boy is there a lot of 💩she's doing.

You do realise that by British political standards the Democrats are distinctly right of centre except on identity politics and there they they are simply batshit. How can any country consider itself the leader of the civilised world when a sizeable proportion of its population can't access affordable or even any healthcare, where most hard-working people are entitled to only a fraction of the paid holiday leave we take for granted in Western Europe and where there is no universal right for paid maternity leave?

JKR has gone from being a billionaire to a mere multi-millionaire because she has donated so much money to charities for the benefit of women and children, whereas in the US your ultra-rich appear to be concentrating their efforts on becoming even richer at the expense of the sick and needy.

I think they are right of centre on that too.

Gender identity ideology is a socially traditional concept that depends on the removal of women's rights.

borntobequiet · 29/08/2025 17:04

JKR is widely considered - outside of small echo chambers - to be a repulsive human being so that trends across the internet

What an utter, shameless, toxic falsity this is.

Says the lady from the island that did brexit 🙄
And voted in your labor right-wingers 🙄
And paint their roads with flags 🙄
And are going to vote president Farage in 🙄
Etc., etc., etc.

Labour are more left wing than either of your parties, which admittedly isn't saying much.

Anyway, you seem both rude and lacking in grasp of UK culture and politics, so I can't be arsed to argue with you 😂

Sod Labour, the Tories are more left wing than either of their parties!

Yes, I think gender ideology is right wing as well.

Americans think it's left wing because right wing and very right wing is all they know.

But it prioritises individual liberty over collective responsibility, which makes it right wing IMO.

Fair point, but of course Seinfeldsbirthingperson won't see it like that at all. Mind you, neither do left-wing parties in the UK if their utterances on the subject are anything to go by.

As I've just said to @Merrymouse that's a fair point and I agree.

You are right that you could care less about her. You clearly care rather too much, and you could ... care less. Or you could find out a bit more about what she has actually said and actually stands for, and then you might get a more balanced understanding of her, and might come to appreciate her good qualities.

What a bizarre statement. I don't know anyone in my large friendship group or family who thinks this about JK Rowling, except one family who have a "trans son" (an autistic, same sex attracted female, who has rapid onset gender dysphoria along with the rest of her friendship group at age 14/15). Almost as if there's an echo chamber there.

RapidOnsetGenderCritic · 30/08/2025 11:05

Even my transman friend has a somewhat nuanced view of JKR, not liking her for her pro-women stance but accepting that she is not a monster and does a lot of good things.
