Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

I discovered a really good podcast last night that dealt with the impact on family members of MtF transitioners. Desexing Society.

I really hope I'm late to the party on this one. It was a young women being interviewed about her experiences growing up in a badly dysfunctional family as her father decided he wanted to become a woman.
It's from her point of view, and for me it was a real eye opener. It deals with subjects I hadn't even thought of.
For example all of the father's friends were part of the transition scene, and they kept telling her how mature and special she was for accepting her father's transition, when from the sound of her testimony no one actually really asked for her input or how she felt. She later realised that she had been groomed.
There is discussion of some very unpleasant aspects, so go into this prepared.
I've only listened to this one episode, I have no idea how good/bad the overall series is. I will be listening to more and finding out.

Please consider giving it a listen, and if you like it, a like and subscribe. It looks like it has a fairly low audience, but a ton of work is being put in. This one episode was very enlightening but also emotionally draining.

It’s really good, including the last season with all the previous episodes. It has been posted about before, for example on the Moira Deeming threads because she features in an episode, and host Stassja Frei is excellent. I agree I would hope it would get as many listens as possible. It has both a generic approach and some Australian specifics but those specifics are very relatable (eg schools). Please support Stassja!
