I know that all-male panels and teams were banned, yet I saw a trans identifying male take a female place on University Challenge. Also, twice this week I've seen a trans identifying male replace a woman on The Chase, where every team is always compromised of two males and two females.

I don't have any objection to men wearing whatever clothes they want but they should not be taking places away from female contestants.

Agree - and quizzes shows have had issues for years with being male-dominated, so it’s something they should take seriously.

I agree with you about diversity, but I can't find any evidence that all-male teams are banned, as you put it, except for panellists on comedy shows like QI and Mock The Week. So I don't think you can say that a man took a female place on University Challenge. They've had an all-female team on there before. But UC is pretty good at including questions on eg. women painters and scientists.

Sort of on topic, but we were watching a couple of very old episodes of Would I Lie to you, and really noticed the male bias. One woman each time, and in both episodes comments about her looks/ being attractive were made.
We then watched a newer one, and what a difference it was. Felt much more inclusive.
So yes- we have come a long way.

Since when are all male teams banned in those two shows? Confused

There's a BBC rule about panel games like "Q.I." and "Mock The Week" having to have at least one token woman, but I don't think it applies to intellectual shows like "University Challenge".
I know that with "Q.I." it's now irrelevant anyway as it's chaired by a woman.
