I was too knackered to celebrate yesterday, and have spent much of today asleep, but can we have a party to celebrate my news?

My hormone levels blood test results yesterday confirmed I am no longer in perimenopause! I have now tipped over completely in to withered old hag!

Joy to the world! (Shame I'm still having hot flushes mind)

Edited

Oh well done! It's lovely being a withered old hag.

Join the Crone Club, Boily.

Re orient/orientate - my American DH confirms that orient is normal in America, whereas in my head orientate would be the normal British usage.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/08/2025 19:02

Either orient or orientate is acceptable, particularly in British English. In the American English preferred by my company we’ve standardized on ‘orient’ (if nothing else it has the virtue of taking up less space on the user interface). Personally I rather feel that ‘orientate’ is more congruent with ‘orientation’. And it’s a bit of a shame the original nuance of orient specifically relating to facing east has been lost.

Boiledbeetle · 20/08/2025 19:03

Bloody auto correct.

Here I am in my withered old haggis outfit.

I am 21 years post menopause and still alive.

My post menopausal-ness has come of age.

Can i join the withered old hags as an old hagdehog please.

MyrtleLion · 20/08/2025 19:45

I have been forced off my crappy non-working HRT for six weeks because it affects the healing of my ankle. Just when I finally had a referral to the menopause clinic at the hospital to be assessed for testosterone.

Fortunately the appointment hasn’t come through yet. So I will become withered old crone and then have to restart all the lady hormones for a few weeks before seeing the professionals.

Certainly.

Do hedgehog spikes fall out during hedgehog menopause stages?

Does that mean you are now a hedgehag?

That probably means that eventually I will become a hagpie? 😂

And am I a hagon?Confused
hm no. ‘Dragon lady’ is already a pretty well known concept usually applied to women of a certain age who DGAF.

No more Red Niagara, & no Fs left to give. It certainly has its charms.

Oooooooh does that mean there is scope for a newer, naive hedgehog with a shiny new cauldron full of lemons?

I will admit it was joyous last year, after they removed my fallopian tubes, to realise I could now get rid of entire drawers full of sanitary products. After over 40 years the joy of never needing a tampon ever again (unless I have a nosebleed, but they luckily aren't my thing) was immense.

I'm going to fully embrace my official withered old hag status and start opening the door to shout at the small noisy children outside (currently I just shout at them via the open window)

Come on now Boily. We don't look at all like that. We are all frolicking, youthful, arthritis-free haglets.

Bannedontherun · 20/08/2025 20:13

@Boiledbeetle Hedgehag is much better actually. Er if you mean my quills I just have to pluck the random ones off that appear in unexpected places like my face.

Absolutely love it, thank you! 😍 If it gets confusing I could always attempt to wear a Coldplay t shirt. Might be hard with the spikes!
