No new gardens this month, although some may appear later. Help Sarah’s Legal Challenge to Secure Female Only Rape Crisis Therapy has generated a new single sex service for Sarah and other women too traumatised to attend a mixed group. It’s currently only a one year pilot. Linzi Smith recently won a case against Northumbria Police which has resulted in considerable changes to the way they participate in Pride and has much wider implications for any service that has a public duty to be impartial.

I know we are all hoping JKR's fund will take over funding some of these cases but most dont say fully funded yet and some cases may not be eligible as brought by men or outside UK and Ireland. If you donate to a woman's fund please signpost in the comments to JKR's fund.
Waiting for a decision - but garden will still accept plants.

Transparency In Schools - FOI Appeal To Access Secret Lesson Plan had an upper tribunal hearing on 16th and 17th September 2024. Theya re still waiting for a decision.

Susan Evans brought a Judicial review to try and protect teenagers from harmful and irreversible medical treatment This JR examined the CQC’s decision to register GenderPlus, the hearing was listed for 24/25 June 2025. Didnt meet the target for funding and so could still do with some planting.

Other gardens

Jennifer Melle, from Croydon, was disciplined by Epsom and St Helier University Hospital Trust for referring to a convicted paedophile known as 'Mr X' as he. He subjected her to racist abuse. Dr Lynne Amidon, a former Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Team Manager at the Tavistock is going to an Employment Appeal Tribunal over Whistleblowing and Safeguarding Concerns at the Tavistock and Portman. She has been made redundant, she really needs more help.

Graham Lineham is being sued by David Paisley. Interim target was met but there is now a stretch target that can be found under why I’m asking for your help again.

Protect single sex facilities at work had a hearing in early October. Naomi Cunningham is representing Faye. Planned hearing in February was delayed due to lack of judges. Anonymity and reporting restrictions on Faye’s real identity were granted recently and the final hearing will be held in March 2026. Faye’s had a number of donations during the Sandie Peggie Tribunal but is still along way from target.

Andreas Mueller is a Public servant sued for saying sex is binary. There was a hearing on 22nd October 2024 which covered anonymity for the complainant and trying to get this case joined with Elspeth’s similar case. On 22 April, the tribunal considered whether the claimant should be granted anonymity, that was granted. On 23 April, Andreas’s lawyers sought to have the claim against him struck out on the grounds that it is vexatious and has no reasonable prospect of success. No update. Tribunal Tweets were hoping to cover it but nothing on the substack. Both JR and Naomi will appear in this case, in theory on the same side. This case is now being combined with Elspeth’s case which can be found as Chair of SEEN sued for saying 'only women menstruate and will be a 16 day hearing. Anonymity for the claimant was refused. Latest update says ”We have enough funds to take the case forward for Elspeth but Andreas needs more plants.

Linzi Smith was banned and spied on for my beliefs. Linzi is a Newcastle United fan banned from the club. Newcastle United Football Club (NUFC) are unhappy that I did not set out in my crowdfunder the contents of the three posts on my X account that they relied upon to ban me and have accused me of a “deliberate obfuscation of the material facts” and a “misrepresentation of the genesis of this case”. There is detailed information about the tweets on the crowdfunding page.

Mrs A wanted people to help me ensure my child doesn't medically transition outside the NHS She won her battle in the Court of Appeal but may need to keep fighting.

Australian nurse Jasmine Sussex is a mum and a passionate breastfeeding advocate with 15 years experience. But she’s now facing legal action because she said publicly that she doesn’t believe that men can breastfeed. Not the easiest garden to find but look for Support legal defence for Jasmine Sussex and maybe Human Rights Law Alliance

Other gardens not currently accepting plants

Lawyers acting for three people - including campaigner are threatening to sue Wes if he doesn’t ban cross sex hormones for under 18s. If there is a garden I cant find it.

Darlington nurses are proceeding to court and have set up their own trade union. Their case is being backed by Christian Concern, I'm not sure if this is the same as The Christian Legal Centre backing Jennifer Melle. This is the case with the man hoping to get his wife pregnant. NHS England has intervened. Unless Darlington offers them compensation I expect the case will still go to court in October.

Brighton fathers are active - one considering legal action over changing rooms. Mumsnet thread Secondary School complaint about mixed sex changing rooms.
and one seeking judicial review over cross sex hormones. Mumsnet thread Another legal case - Family sues NHS for prescribing child cross sex hormones

No garden for either Brighton father yet.

A letter before action has been sent to the WI about it’s refusal to admit a man who doesnt pretend to be female. No garden yet but mumsnet is encouraging one to be opened.

  • *A letter has been sent to to the City of London Corporation about Hampstead Ladies Pond and there will be legal action if it is not restricted to biological women. No garden yet and I suspect this will have a generous backer.

It was mentioned in some other threads, but to add to this specific one, I got reminded of on TwiX recently:
the parallel case to Sandie's but in England, and with added protected characteristics: muslim belief and disability (PTSD):
Faye Russell-Caldicott against NHS England

She will be represented by Naomi Cunningham, too.

This will be very interesting especially due to the religious aspect, seeing as there is this crossover in some debate circles / the "omnicause" effect, and it will help further unpick their "theories" and supporting several causes which directly contradict each other, if anyone would stop to think for a moment.
Especially as I learned from reading the recent discussions that you cannot have a hierarchy of protected beliefs.

The Sara Morrison case seems to have changed quite a lot from when I first gardened. Any updates as it does not seem as clear cut as it once was

anyolddinosaur · 09/08/2025 09:51

Only what is on the fundraising page - what she saw in the discovery material meant she resigned and is claiming constructive dismissal.

"My trust in the process was further eroded upon reading the shocking contents of the Discovery material, which left me deeply shaken. It became clear to me that my trust and confidence in ever returning to my former role had been irreparably damaged."
