Puerto Rico bans medical transition for under-21s

Following the recent Skrmetti decision by the US Supreme Court allowing state bans on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, Puerto Rico has now banned hormonal treatments and trans surgeries for anyone under 21.

Predictably, activists are extremely displeased, but it will probably be a popular move on the island, where most people are quite socially conservative.

This will of course cause huge cognitive dissonance for the activist class in the mainland US, who designate Puerto Ricans as people of colour who are expected not to deviate from support for the Omnicause.

21 is a more sensible age than 18, but I still think both age limits allow people to make big changes to their bodies/lives at too young an age.

Great news! 21 is far better, though as Utopia says, still not ideal.

This will of course cause huge cognitive dissonance for the activist class in the mainland US, who designate Puerto Ricans as people of colour who are expected not to deviate from support for the Omnicause.

Eventually the cumulative cognitive dissonance will get too much and they will circle back round to sanity? We can live in hope.
