Did anybody watch this recent two part documentary on Channel 4? It covers this case https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgeq2xyqeldo.amp

It was so shocking. There were so many victims of this man, with potentially more who haven't come forward or who aren't aware what has been done to them. The level of misogyny of this man is absolutely sickening. But he only got ten years in prison. He pleaded guilty to 4 charges, including one of rape and one of voyeurism. It is such a pathetic sentence for the level of harm he has caused.

And unless more charges are brought, he will potentially be walking the streets again in ten years.

I also agree that there's something not right at the heart of his family - I wonder if SS should investigate or is it too late now?

Especially If any of his siblings have kids I hope they do all take a good look.

MinnieMountain · 10/07/2025 11:16

Awful man. It’s scary to think he was walking the streets of the city I live in.

I agree that there’s something seriously wrong in his family.

This piece of scum had been behaving like this all his life. He was expelled from school because of sexually assaulting fellow pupils.
I think boys showing seriously deviant sexual behaviour at this stage need to be monitored in a scheme along the lines of Prevent but for sex offenders.
He is never going to change who he is. Serial sex offenders cannot be rehabilitated in fact they tend to escalate their crimes and perversions.
Surely anyone can see that men like this need to be permanently imprisoned for public safety?
Prison sentencing is utter madness.
The court initially wanted to give him bail ffs.
Those laughing and encouraging him via texts should have been prosecuted as accessories.

Tbh - I have reached a point where I feel we need some kind of scientific intervention. Mandatory chemical castration or similar. We cannot have half the world’s population constantly being put at risk because of a group of predatory men (predominately). It’s an awful way to expect women and girls to have to live.

WhatTheHelll · 10/07/2025 11:39

He was inappropriate as a child in school so I would think he’s been abused himself as the whole family sound messed up.

AnnaMagnani · 10/07/2025 11:40

We've had other threads about chemical castration.

Voluntary chemical castration has evidence it helps.

Mandatory doesn't work.

Unsurprisingly every offender is different so needs different strategies.

A large part of the reason for there being no prison spaces is longer sentences for sex offenders who then don't get parole.

I've never seen anyone get released on their first parole. It takes years of reassessment.

He won't be serving a sentence that needs parole necessarily just because it's a sex offence. Unless it's a Life order or and Extended sentence it'll be served half in custody half in community. Released automatically at half way point.

troppibambini6 · 10/07/2025 11:44

Horrific. It’s really stayed with me. It was just so planned and premeditated…. The bin bags at the windows, the cameras everywhere….. it was a proper house of horrors.
Those poor women and all the unknown victims. The sentence was an absolute joke.

Or an Indefinite for public protection. But there was no indication of that from the programme.

I am guessing, given his mum thought the video was funny despite knowing that he had been expelled from school, that his family had normalised sexual abuse at home.

The little snippets about his family life were horrifying.

Was it his own Mum? I thought it was the mum of another family member.

Britishtrees · 10/07/2025 11:59

I have so much admiration for those women who spoke up. Their lives utterly destroyed, but spoke to police. Terrible consequences for those women who weren’t even aware and had to be informed by the police that they had been raped and filmed. The programme also suggested there could be many more victims. I reckon staff at the clubs were aware of what could be happening,by the way they all knew his name and gave smiling but guarded responses but where is the understanding of system for them to report concerns? Also great respect to the police officers involved.

Coffeeishot · 10/07/2025 12:04

We watched the first episode it was horrific! I don't know if the young woman was consulted about the footage before it was broadcast hopefully she knew, will.watch the second part tonight.

I agree. He wasn't born like this. So I am not surprised his mother found it funny. Something must have happened to him as a child, not that it's an excuse. I have a son born the same year and he has ASD but is the loveliest person, I told him about this case and he was horrified. He has very high morals, unlike that excuse for a human being.

One of the most enraging parts was how his friends and family were laughing at photos of bloodstained sheets and unconscious women that he was sharing with them, encouraging him! Apparently even his mum laughed at his behaviour

Yes I could t quite believe that he’d sent those to his mother! And that she’d responded by thinking it was funny? In what world would a normal mum respond like that to the videos which show her son is a rapist!

Second half sounds worse than the first !

I’m also shocked at his extended family laughing at the footage, especially since they will have been aware that he was expelled from school for sexualised behaviour. To comment “this looks like a rape scene” and laugh?

WTAF is classed as normal behaviour in that family and what other skeletons are in their cupboards.

My partner's sister was raped every time a maternal uncle was left baby sitting them. Started when she was 10. She told her mother, but mother knew her brother was a rapist & her loyalty was to him, not her daughter. Uncle rapist is now dead, but they all talk about him really affectionately & minimise what he did. It absolutely flabbergasts me how childhoods can be so abusive that the people affected deny & normalise the abuse into adulthood. I need to stop talking about this now because it enrages me.

Me too
and I’m not easily shocked

he was horrifying, and the awful thing is I bet he will continue to do even worse when released

Coffeeishot · 10/07/2025 15:24

I strongly believe that rapists and sex offenders should be tagged for life after release from prison these men will never be rehabilitated so keeping tabs on them until they die imo is the only solution.

Abitofalark · 10/07/2025 18:57

It's on Channel 4 tonight at 11 - Episode 1.

SpottyAardvark · 10/07/2025 19:08

24 Hours has shown lots of awful cases, but that was the worst one I have seen. He will always be a danger to women. He will always be a manipulator of people & situations.

It was obvious that he had thought carefully about his strategy in the event he was nicked. Completely stonewall the police with ‘no comment’, however hard they tried to goad him into talking, then plead guilty to a very limited number of charges, thereby effectively doing a deal with the CPS & courts to minimise the amount of time he will spend inside. I would expect him to be a model prisoner, too, to manipulate the probation service.

Mum4MrA · 10/07/2025 21:26

Utterly horrifying. I was really impressed by the selflessness of the young women who agreed to take part in the documentary. I hope they can convict him of more of the offences especially as they have filmed evidence of the women’s lack of capacity to consent.

UnsocialMedia · 10/07/2025 21:55

I also thought it was the mother of someone else, not his mother that they were referring to.

I couldn't quite follow what was happening with the man accused of witness intimidation? Was he saying that he was using France's phone to see the extent of his crimes?

MoominUnderWater · 10/07/2025 22:02

I thought it was his mother? Could have sworn they said the text they were reading out was from his brother.

This was so so awful to watch , they should hang their heads

LatteLady · 12/07/2025 17:51

I watched it, really schocked and kept looking at his dirty fingernails and shuddering. I think his victims have been incredibly brave. As to his mother, no words.
