Man harassed and assaulted in Brighton

Not sure if any of you follow Edge of the Matrix on YouTube. You might’ve seen him on other YouTube videos wearing his sandwich board.

He went to Brighton, and got quite the treatment on the pier.

It’s a long video (I’m not even finished watching yet) but the way these people behave is infuriating. I can’t abide it.

Hope the link works!

I have watched a lot of this guy's videos.

He was a firefighter. He objected to being forced to wear rainbow laces, turn up at pride every year with the fire engine, DEI nonsense, blah blah blah.

He hates gender ideology (in part) as he sees it as an atttack on reality, truth and free speech. He is right. He has every right to object to gender ideology 100% on that basis.

He is also a former athlete, so he massively objects to cheating men in women's sports, because he knows exactly how massive the male advantage is.

He supports LGB rights but hates the medicalisation of children. He believes that adults should be free to do what they want, so long as it does not harm others. He thinks gender ideology harms others, eg men in women's spaces harms women so he objects.

He genuinely seems to want converstations - watch other vids where he does speak to others on both sides of the #nodebate. Interestingly he always objects when someone says he wants debate - he claims not to want debate, because debates have a winner. He wants conversations.

Also check out "the two lesbians" (as they seem to be known in youtube world) on one of his recent Hebden Bridge videos. MKR audits and mybrakesdontwork are their channels on yoube. They are a couple of wonderful no-nonsence northerners (and they are a couple)!!

He has done a very long interview with a TIF recently which I have not watch yet.

I like those two girls too. Follow them both on YouTube. The smaller one got a very hard time recently at a trans demo, was being shoved all over the place by them.

Yep, I like them a lot.

Weird weird times! I watch police and drone auditors on youtube, and I watch gender critical content. I occasionally watch Charlie Veitch (who gets a lot of criticism, a lot of which is probably fair as a bit of a Tommy Robinson type) as a right wing trolling youtuber, going round Manchester filimg "crackheads" and "balaclava boys" as he calls them.

We have got to a point where we have the world of Veitch and the world of auditors coming together, and being joined by Mr Menno and gender critical lesbian youtubers. Weird weird times.

That video was an oddly compelling watch.

Yeah I watch auditors too. Do you know of The Laughing Auditor? He’s probably my favourite, Scottish guy who does a lot of police and job centre audits.

Hear what you’re saying about Charlie Veitch. He’s a wind up merchant and it’s no wonder he needs literal bodyguards to film in Manchester now. 😂Have heard some things about him in relation to abuse of former partners, no idea if there’s truth in it. I think his ex is often on Tik Tok talking about his alleged abuse.

He does love a trip to Crackie Gardens (Piccadilly Gardens I believe), and his videos have taught me that Manchester looks like a shite hole!

Like Billy Moore too.

I'm not a big fan of the Laughing Auditor, but I loved the one where he stumbled onto the trans protest of a lesbian meeting.

I am no Veitch fan and am not going to defend him... but I do think anyone who thinks he's terrible should listen to him speak about his ex, and vice versa, and watch some of his videos and make their own mind up. I don't think he's the devil.

I like DJE Media's drone vids quite a lot... but he seems to have decided to go down the "documenting the fall of Britain" Veitch route... which involves getting involved in filming protests, such as pro Palestine, and, I'm sure, trans protests in the near future. The recent "cornrow boy" videos are strange... you can watch the events play out from the perspective of at least 4 difference youtubers, including the two lesbians who oppose the TQ+ and Charlie Veitch the alleged right wing trouble maker, and DJE Media whose decided to move away from making drove videos at National Trust properties. The world is truly mad now.

Edge of the Matrix certain fits somewhere in the middle - I suspect he has a fair bit in common with Veitch, but his focus is 100% about challenging gender ideology (at least at the moment).

Lonelycrab · 08/07/2025 21:02

Antagonist idiot

this really isn’t the sort of guy you want to fighting for your hill to die on

And Veitch is an utter prick. Commiserations if you haven’t tge intelligence to work that out.

KnottyAuty · 08/07/2025 21:06

I imagine the police would have taken him much less seriously if he hadn’t been covered in soup. Otherwise all he had was “they crowded around” which was certainly intimidation but I couldn’t tell if it was over the line to an “assault”.

But that was seriously dodgy that guy “I heard your address” and following him for nearly a mile. I’d like to hope that the police dealt with that - seriously scary behaviour!

It was a shame that the camera fell over because although they said he was holding him by the neck, it looked more like a head restraint “hold”. Possibly one firefighters might be taught? But we can’t know and it’s interesting that the flabby guy had a posh voice and used the word “sir” so the passers by took his side without knowing much else about how scary Mr Flabby was. Lucky it’s all on film.

Steve is really brave. Heartening how many people came up to thank him. And his signs are simple statements - not hateful or offensive unlike the counter protestors he encountered. The sooner this behaviour stops the better

Rewatched the end bit. Unfortunately, this matrix guy seems to be as much of a menace as the people he's protesting against. He does nothing for his own cause when he assaults the guy at the end. The guy shouldn't have taken his sandwich board but that didn't give him the right to wrestle him to the ground and put his hands around his neck. Completely disproportionate.

I disagree. Some men have backgrounds in martial arts or power lifting. They have been fire fighters or soldiers or played rugby to a fairly high level. The police cannot be everywhere. Part of the reason we have so much crime and anti-social behavious is that men like that sign thief at the end think they can be anti-social or criminal with no consequence. Men who have the skills and bravery to face up to these law-breakers help to ensure people stay in line.

I note he films everything, and he can always be charged if he goes too far.

The bloke who was being "strangled" seemed able to speak clearly, almost like he was not being strangled.

The sign thief seems to overheard the local female witness's address and is a genuine threat.

Edited

Are you saying that it is antoganistic to stand in public with "keep men out of women's sport" and "there's no such thing as a transgender child" and seek conversations?

I believe that free speech and public debate is a societal good, and the problem is 100% people who violently oppose free speech and 0% those who wish to have conversations in public.

I would not be able to come up with a convincing argument as to why Veitch is not a prick. But again, his right to film criminal and anti-social behaviour in public must be absolute. The right of drug addicts to object to being filmed in public, and the right of teenage boys in balaclavas to behave in a threatening manner towards him or throw bottles at him, is zero.

Surely it is (in the absence of the police doing it constantly) a societal good to have men like Veitch constantly going down to known gay cruising spots to interrupt men having gay sex illegally in public and hopefully reduce the numbers of people using the space for that purpose?

I am certainly not going to claim he's a hero. He's obviously in it for the money to a large extent. But he is exercising his freedom of expression and speech, and (in his own little way) trying to hold bad people to account. I've seen him showing photos of someone they've just witnessed selling drugs to the police - surely people helping the police arrest drug dealers is worthy of a bit of credit?

He was legally entitled to use reasonable force to retrieve his stolen property.

I don't know about the fire service history or his motivations there, but the people using hard right phrases like 'woke mind virus' are rarely feminists.

He can be Not A Feminist and still find so called gender affirming treatment of children utterly repugnant.

In reality, misogyny is independent of one’s thoughts on trans ideology.

Even if he is a bit of a twat in other aspects of his life, he still right in this issue.

Also what is "woke"? In my view woke is when you think you're progressive but you support the misogyny and homophobia of TQ+, the racism of BLM, the racism and sexism of DEI.

I don't use the term "woke mind virus" but woke is a very bad thing which does seem to infect the mind.
