For women Scotland erased from the Times?

i thought it was FWS who took the case to the Supreme Court? This article doesn’t even mention them. That seems odd. It wasn’t Sex Matters who took the case, fair enough for them to comment but FWS aren’t even mentioned in this. Have they dissolved after they won?

My guess is the usual journalistic London-centric Bubble and anyone outside the M25 barely exists, certainly not in faraway "There be dragons!" lands outside England.

This started straight away after the Supreme Court ruling, with Sex Matters being the go-to organisation platformed by the media and FWS barely getting a look-in. It is just getting worse as time goes on.

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 30/06/2025 14:45

It's becoming rather tedious. The Mail also credited SM for the change in guidance to Gender Representation on Public Boards.

They absolutely haven’t dissolved, are posting daily on social media.

Plasticwaste · 30/06/2025 14:55

FWS are heroines, and from Scotland, so of course they're going to be erased from history.

I suspect you’re right but also that Sex Matters has a good internal system for picking up and responding to any journalist’s query quickly. They’ve probably also got a v quick quote sign-off process, and with Helen Joyce a former journalist, that will help enormously. She knows how to give good quote. And journalists will get used to that, so that they soon become the go-to people.

TonTonMacoute · 30/06/2025 15:02

To be fair that story is about what's happened since the SC victory, in particular the refusal of various institutions to acknowledge it. They have gone to Sex Matters for comment, they haven't claimed they won the case

MarieDeGournay · 30/06/2025 16:48

Well what would you expect from that nest of evil plotters at Sex Matters?

An article in the highly authoritative source [checks notes] Yorkshire Bylines linked to by that knowledgeable and objective poster BeeSouriante revealed the true Machiavellian nature of Sex Matters:

Sex Matters is a powerful gender-critical organisation with explicit connections to organisations listed by the SPLC as anti-LGBTQ+ hate groups, actively courted by our mainstream media, and influentially enmeshed within our parliament, legal system and human rights commission...
And yet despite these views and associations – or perhaps because until now they have hidden them well – Sex Matters are by no means a ‘fringe group’. Rather, they have friends in very high places.
...The organisation’s true agenda is.. best described as ‘eliminationist’.

So there you have it. They sit in their underground HQ, plotting the elimination of all trans people everywhere. They probably got bored during a tea break and plotted the elimination of FWS just for fun.

Or maybe they want to be the only GC organisation, and are picking off the competition one by one..

That's the kind of monsters Sex Matters are. Nobody is safe from them.
LGBA - be afraid, be very afraid, they have a low boredom threshold..

Damn, @MarieDeGournay, you wait until after they take away the laugh response for that zinger? Really?

Oh but can you imagine the howling about hypocrisy if we had a panto dame?

Dr Dame Katie Denise would do it.

Seriestwo · 02/07/2025 12:27

Gender - the panto: I cast Nicola sturgeon for the wicked queen, it’s my idea and so I’m afraid that’s non negotiable.

who are are auditioning for the rest of the roles? we need a handsome prince, a useful idiot, a princess, a dame and a bunch of dancers -including one slightly shit one.

I nominate "Thin Blue Line" era James Dreyfus for Buttons.

India for the useful idiot?

is he useful?

Quite useful for eliciting killer witticisms from JKR, I suppose? I might have Himdia as an Ugly Sister, myself - even 4 year old kids know they're actually men. Although there are almost too many candidates to choose from in this category.

CompleteGinasaur · 02/07/2025 17:50

And JKR as Fairy Godmother. obvs.

Or in full regal mode as in this photo.

There are times when I don't agree at all with KS, or the way she approaches some topics, but nonetheless, she is brilliant and cool AF.

I actually ordered some red socks online after seeing this photo - yes I am that suggestible🙄 - but they turned out to be disappointingly pink so I'll never achieve this look 100%😢

There could be a stage representation of women's rights like the bullet in Hamilton

(Women's rights) 'They're behind you'

There are four different shades of red of these. My best socks.

You know, this is what makes the Feminism: Sex and gender discussions board such a bastion of female solidarity - within minutes of expressing disappointment at the colour of KS-related red socks bought online, Arabella comes up with a link to a source with four options.

And not a hint of socks-shaming or FFS Marie how shallow can you get?
Sisterhood is powerful😄
Thank you ArabellaSmile
