WRASAC Dundee and Angus job vacancies - quoting exemption for a women only post via Equality Act, and saying women includes transwomen

WRASAC is Women's Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre. I harnessed two adverts today from them stating exemption for women only under Equality Act and including transwomen.
Link to their website adverts
I naively thought things would have changed after ERCC, FWS tribunals etc

Trans women are women. Irrespective of the fact that they're being used as a political punchbag at the moment, to detract focus from GENUINE issues. As a former user of WRASAC I would be as comfortable speaking to a trans woman as I would be to a cis woman. Go complain about real problems and advocate for more funding or protest the huge number of sexual assaults carried out by Cis men every week.

Hello there.

Please would you explain to me how transwomen are women, as in order to be a transwoman one must be born male, aka a man.

Thank you.

Any thoughts on this?

And the TWAW mantra is sooooo 2018. It's almost nostalgic seeing it in the wild now.

Can you imagine where we'd be if TRA's had focused on developing specialised services and spaces to meet their needs since 2018 rather than trying to aggressively colonise women's? If they hadn't tried to sell the world a nonsense?

1(1)A person (A) does not contravene a provision mentioned in sub-paragraph (2) by applying in relation to work a requirement to have a particular protected characteristic, if A shows that, having regard to the nature or context of the work—
(a)it is an occupational requirement,
(b)the application of the requirement is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim, and
(c)the person to whom A applies the requirement does not meet it (or A has reasonable grounds for not being satisfied that the person meets it).
(2)The provisions are—
(a)section 39(1)(a) or (c) or (2)(b) or (c);
(b)section 41(1)(b);
(c)section 44(1)(a) or (c) or (2)(b) or (c);
(d)section 45(1)(a) or (c) or (2)(b) or (c);
(e)section 49(3)(a) or (c) or (6)(b) or (c);
(f)section 50(3)(a) or (c) or (6)(b) or (c);
(g)section 51(1)
(3)The references in sub-paragraph (1) to a requirement to have a protected characteristic are to be read—
(a)in the case of gender reassignment, as references to a requirement not to be a transsexual person (and section 7(3) is accordingly to be ignored);
(b)in the case of marriage and civil partnership, as references to a requirement not to be married or a civil partner (and section 8(2) is accordingly to be ignored).
(4)In the case of a requirement to be of a particular sex, sub-paragraph (1) has effect as if in paragraph (c), the words from “(or” to the end were omitted.

Call me Pollyanna, but could they be using transgender woman to mean transman?

“Trans women” are men. Many women would prefer a female only environment when dealing with the aftermath of sexual assault and other male violence. Some would self exclude unless they could have one. Why is pushing your identity politics agenda more important than what they want? Why don’t you respect their rights?

Did you miss the Supreme Court ruling? Transwomen are not women either biologically or legally. HTH
