I despair. Is no one actually in charge or is the NHS being run by a bunch of puerile idiots.

A hospital trust at the centre of a row over transwomen sharing female changing rooms has come under fire for producing a Pride calendar celebrating “polyamory” and “pansexuality”.

NHS trust sued by nurses over trans row releases a Pride calendar

With days marked for polyamory, pansexuality and drag, the booklet has angered staff at the County Durham and Darlington hospital trust

What made me gasp was was this A group of nurses who work at Darlington Memorial Hospital are suing the trust over a policy that allows transwomen that is, males, to use their single-sex changing rooms
Under the picture!!

An explanation what a trans woman is!

wtf. I remember when the WI calendar was a ‘bit racy’ now we have a calendar devoted to sexual kinks

I’m sure they are making this stuff up to troll us
what makes pan sexual different to bi?

Crouton19 · 24/06/2025 07:03

"As an organisation, we are committed to creating a workplace where all colleagues feel safe, supported and respected.”

So listen to your staff who are telling you that stunts like this do the exact opposite!

orangewasp · 24/06/2025 07:08

What a waste of NHS money.

Oh I know the answer to this one. Bisexual only find men and women attractive. Pansexuals find all genders attractive (although technically the translation would be all sexes).

Did this network produce this rubbish in working hours - in other words, were they being paid while dreaming this up?

Whoever put James Baldwin and Juno Dawson in the same sentence needs to read the complete works of both of these men. Then write a compare & contrast essay for us. It'll be quite an education for them, I fear.

I think the article said this garbage was 36pp - June only has 30 days (Deo gratias), so I can only wonder at what lies & deceit might be filling the other 6.

I also want to know what specifically is the difference between bi and pan. Baffling.

I hope the people responsible for this idiotic document did it on their own time.

wtf are they doing co-opting the late, great Barry Humphries? Edna Everage wasn’t a ‘drag act’, “she” was one of his satirical characters. I don’t think he’d have been impressed, judging from this from his Wikipedia page:

The comments included referring to gender-affirmation surgery as "self-mutilation" and transgender identity as a whole as a "fashion—how many different kinds of lavatory can you have?"

Re: working hours:
yes, it's told at the end of the article.

"A spokesperson for County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust said: “The calendar was developed and shared internally, during June which is nationally recognised as Pride Month, as part of the work led by our LGBTQ+ staff network, using time allocated through our staff network group framework.

“It is part of a wider programme of activity throughout the year which includes marking a range of national and international recognition days and public awareness campaigns.

“The calendar was intended to be a supportive, optional resource for staff.
“It was shared in a gentle and non-directive way, with no call to action. As an organisation, we are committed to creating a workplace where all colleagues feel safe, supported and respected.”

"with no call to action" - you would hope so, or are they suggesting to lesbian staff that they must become pansexual or polyamorous? (they can, of course, but from their own decision, not because their bosses suggested it). It's so intrusive.
