This morning I was surprised to read this letter in the Metro of all papers:

When people raise the matter of women's rights, they often get accused of hating trans people. Any disagreement with trans ideology is called 'an attack on trans people's identities' or 'transphobic hate'.

[...]

The false accusation of hate is intended to prevent free discussion.

This is a paper that has again and again platformed pro-trans propaganda - and published this during Pride month.

A welcome sign that things are changing in the media?

Good to see. But it's still a letter, not from Metro's main writers? But I guess them allowing that opinion to be shown is a good sign.

I've had an email argument with the Metro editor about their stance; he was very defensive and insisted they print both points of view.

They had a hilarious interview with Kate Nash the other week, in which she ranted for a whole page about her special brand of feminism, and silly GERM song.

I think it will hold out the longest of all print media.

i do remember reading an article in the Metro where a man killed an elderly woman by pushing her off a train for talking too much and it was treated as a joke.

The Metro comments section is always interesting because the majority disagree with the nonsense articles they write.

It always amazes me that papers do not diversify comments.

If nothing else, it would be very good clickbait
