I'm sure there must be some arrant bollocks in here somewhere, because Jolyon.

But is there anything worrying in this?

but then again you people will argue anything as long as you believe it supports your agenda.

So now, after a few posts with helpful links, I'm 'you people', am I?

I'm not 'you people', I'm someone who likes to use primary sources and stick to the facts, and I posted some useful sites referring to the regulations around toilet provision which you might find informative.

I don't know why you think it's OK to call me 'you people', Tandora.

Oh give it a rest with the victim posturing. If “you people” is the worst you have had to contend with being called on one of these threads then believe me you are on the side of the privileged mob.

I’m sure you feel safe from the boogy man 🙄 but the reality is that it will have zero impact in reducing violence against women and girls. If this nonsense continues the likely result is quite the opposite.

My priority is that women’s rights are protected in law, particularly anti discrimination rights. I think that where discrimination is lawful, the reasons should be logical and transparent.

To achieve that, the female sex category must be clearly definable in law.

Tandora · 18/06/2025 18:19

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 18/06/2025 18:15

By "this nonsense" you mean female people being allowed to exist in law and have single sex spaces, yeah?

agaih there is no threat to the existence of female people in law:
the fact that you believe there is is part of the nonsense.

DiamondThrone · 18/06/2025 18:19

Actually, a post quite high up on the Reddit thread puts it well:

It's not yet the actual victory that I'd hope for, don't get the wrong impression.
The EHRC is now saying that employers don't need to provide single sex toilets, individual lockable rooms suffice, however where you have men's toilets and women's toilets trans women can't use the women's and trans men can't use the men's.

Well, not currently, since the Supreme Court confirmed that "women" is not a mixed sex category for the purposes of the Equality Act.

But you people think "women" is a mixed sex category and if you had your way the word would include trans women in all circumstances. So then there would in fact be no word for female people, would there?

And there are plenty of nutters MPs who share your views in the government, so we can't afford to be complacent.

Do people really believe that any guidance produced by EHRC is going to say something other than you must use single sex facilities of your own sex or a single user facility.

That sounds a bit like our charming visitors who say things like "you know how this ends"

Doesn't it just. Interesting how the veiled and not so veiled threats are coming out and why would that be?

Because it has been clarified in Law that transwomen are men, biological males with or without a GRC and therefore have no right of access to spaces, services and sports that are designated for women, biological females and never did and henceforth must stay out of them.

In response to women's rights being clarified and upheld violence against women and girls is going to be ratcheted up, marvellous. Misogyny on crack courtesy of the trans rights cohort and their allies.

Tandora.

Focus.

If trans women are included within the category of "women", what is the category for "female people" called, and what rights do they have as a consequence?

The inclusion of penis people in what are supposed to be single sex female spaces is a threat. As we have repeatedly seen, despite all the assurances that "this will never happen".

You may feel that you can tell the difference between men who are sincerely pretending to be women and men who are pretenting to pretend to be women, but the rest of us don't have your psychic powers.

And even if they are sincerely pretending, they should still be using the correct facilities for their sex.

No idea why you think that is a threat. It is a heavy hearted analysis.

If the guidance stays as it is and is passed in law, the result we be very few services left designated specifically for women.

They do. And they think that Jolyon is riding in on his white steed to save them.

In fact they think that this is what he has done, because they are gullible enough to believe his bollocks (pun intended).

Women/ female people will have exactly all the same rights as they always did. And we will still be able to recognise, talk about , protect, value women/ female people.

Trans people are included within their biological sex category so that's inclusion sorted, brilliant isn't it.

Perhaps you haven't noticed the stunning and brave people who like to share videos of themselves wanking in women's toilets.

I'll give you a hint, their sex is obvious and it's not female.

I have no idea what you are on about

I am saying that I don’t understand how you would exclude a man you believed to be ‘cis’ from toilets.

You seem to be arguing that you can judge their identity in some way.

My impression is that your understanding of ‘trans’ is rather sketchy.

For the very last time- they don’t need me ti exclude them - they don’t choose to use toilets that are designated for women.
My concern is not enforcement (there is no enforcement of access to toilets, no need to do so and no reasonable way to execute this) my concern is that toilets will no longer be designated for women/ men by providers but will all be marked as unisex to cope with the demand of this insane guidance document
