The company is always sparkling, the drinks are always sublime, and the cakes are mysteriously free from gluten, sugar, calories, and troublesome booze… not that you’d ever notice. 😏

Our enthusiastic team of gerbil waitstaff is ably supported by capybaras, quokkas, and other charming creatures who excel at their jobs while looking outrageously adorable.

You will find many things to laugh at - usually out loud - so take care not to spit out your tea. We are considering a petition for the return of the laugh emoji - just as soon as the AI gerbils learn how to spell.

Edit - finally, an online dictionary with a sensible definition - put up with, bear. Supposedly Scottish and Northern English.

I went to East Anglia once when I was a kid (my Dad wanted to get us to appreciate the wonder that is Britain, it's people and it's geography). It was a fucking long way and the journey was really boring but I left with happy memories of friendly people who I could barely understand, unbelievably isolated villages and sand beaches that went on forever.

Mrs Imaginary was tired. Mr Imaginary was tired. So they all went to bed.

In the middle of the night Mrs Imaginary woke up.
Bright, bright, bright was the bedside clock.
Ache ache ache were her hips.
"Oh no!" Said Mrs Imaginary "I can't stand this!" So she got up and went to sleep on the sofa.

It was dark in the living room, and the sofa looked comfortable. Mrs Imaginary snuggled down under a pile of blankets.
Tick tick tick went the living room clock
Bang went a strange noise outside
"Oh no!" Said Mrs Imaginary "I can't stand this!"
So she got up and went to the Bluestocking

The Bluestocking was warm and quiet. The gerbils had finished for the night and the embers were still smouldering in the fireplace. Mrs Imaginary sat in an armchair, lent back, and closed her eyes.
"Ah, peace at last" she said

Brains and Batshit were both a bit discombobulated. Brains isn't used to being confused. It's Batshit's normal state of being.

So - Giant Wombat is a corporeal emanation with a tragic past. I remember now, I was praying for her repose. She seems to have cheered up a lot; I suppose there are worse liminal spaces than the Bluestocking - are those treetops just glimpsed from the side windows when the light is right the Wood Between the Worlds?

I think Giant Wombat is much happier now she has purpose- as a huge comforting cushion for needy gerbils.
