Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

I'm amazed the NEU (my union) has actually said women need supporting in the work place. Formerly they have been so trans/most vulnerable that women seemed to be - despite being the majority of union members - definitely second class.

There is no evidence of any trans person actually having a DSD

most DSD are actually irrelevant ( triple X for example - common but limited impact on people and doesn’t lead to any sex ambiguity)

The ongoing deliberate obfuscation between DSDs and gender identity needs to be addressed by journalists.

The ‘sex is complicated’ part is dependent on ignoring 99.9% plus of the population, and it really isn’t beyond comprehension for the remaining 0.018%.

The prevalence of having a trans identity is 0.5%. I expect having a DSD is likely to occur at a higher rate within the trans population, but each occurrence would reflect a trans person with a DSD - two different phenomenon.

Children who experience gender distress or confusion do not have confusion about their sex. Their sex/ sexed body is what they attribute their distress to. When desiring cross sex hormones at puberty, they know which hormones their body will and won’t be increasing producing of.

It astounds me how far removed these activist teacher’s ‘preaching’ is from those they think they are protecting. They seem to grasp at what they think are ‘gotchas’, and regurgitate points that are perpetually repeated on social media, without noticing that, at best, they don’t cohere and, at worst, they conflict.

Dsd rate is no higher in trans people than the general population this has been shown by multiple studies.
The TRAs claim that around 1.7% have a dsd by claiming that policistic Overy syndrome is a dsd.
The dsd community have repeatedly asked the TQ+ community to stop using them as a gotcha and to stop conflating trans and dsd as there's no real crossover between the groups regardless of what many trans people claim

Well biological sex was defined in Corbett vs Corbett as chromosomal and gonadal sex so there wrong on all counts

Reading about Corbett vs Corbett. Fascinating case! thanks for mentioning. I'm always awed by the wise women of MN :)

No, you pay lots of cash to a surrogacy organisation and a bit later, a baby turns up. It's just like ordering a new thingimybob from Amazon.

But how do the surrogacy companies know which people to get the babies from? 🤔

It’s another of life’s great mysteries. If only someone could research what is happening so us confused people in a fog of uncertainty could find out how we all managed to get pregnant and have all these dependent humans to look after. It’s a mystery to me. I still haven’t had my DNA checked, so I’m not sure what happened to me.

No wonder birth rates across the Western world are plummeting!

RomanCavalryChoir · 11/06/2025 16:32

I knew it'd be the NEU.

And these muppets are teaching children and young people.

I left, along with thousands of other qualified and experienced teachers. Your comment would have been upsetting once upon a time.

Me too. But as I've just commented on another thread, promoting transgenderism over facts, science and reality brings out the muppet in so many people - including teachers.

There are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them. (Orwell, of course)

I'm not a big fan of citing 'common sense', partly because it does actually track IQ, but I think this might be an occasion for it.

99.8% of birth registrations correctly align with gonadal sex.

Of the 0.02%, some will develop an adult female external phenotype which matches their paperwork, and no issue will arise.

Some will develop an adult male external phenotype which doesnt match their paperwork. Whether they choose to correct their paperwork or not, they are protected under the perceptive discrimination provisions of the Act. By the same token, they can be excluded from women-only spaces as an exception to the bar on perceptive discrimination (exemplified in the judgment by reference to transmen, but the same reasoning applies).

WarriorN · 11/06/2025 18:04

Still a teacher, agree they’re muppets 😀

YFenni · 11/06/2025 18:07

I don’t use the word muppet unless referring to The Muppet Show.
