Green Party expels Pallavi Devulapalli

The Green Party have done it again.

Expelled a woman for her 'gc' views.

Dr Pallavi Devulapalli

District Cllr, Airfield ward, KL&WNBC 2023- NHS GP Vice-Chair of Norfolk health overview scrutiny committee (HOSC) Trustee CPRE Norfolk Mum

'On Monday the 2nd of June 2025, I received an email from
@TheGreenParty
, advising I had been permanently expelled from the party. I am shocked and disappointed, coming as it does on the heels of the Supreme Court ruling clarifying what a woman is, and the Sullivan review...
'The initial suspension in September 2024 was for not quoting GPEW policy on Gender Self ID & ‘Transwomen are women, transmen are men’ policy at a hustings. I don’t agree with these policies, and it felt dishonest to quote them in front of my electorate
The suspension was meant to be temporary one, pending investigation. It dragged on for months, with no investigation to my knowledge; then a second suspension was issued, for attending a Christmas social get-together, and for mingling with GPEW members 'while suspended'.
The final email of expulsion stated that in order to protect the party, they had concluded that I needed to be permanently expelled. One person found it so difficult to decide if I was a danger to the party that they abstained from the vote. The vote was carried 9-8.
I find the entire process- from suspension to expulsion on such flimsy grounds, unjust, ludicrous and hurtful. I feel betrayed, angry & very disappointed at the callous manner in which I have been treated by an organisation that I gave so much of my time and energy to.
I have received many messages of support calling me 'excellent', 'respected', 'valued', 'brave', 'truthful', 'dedicated', 'brilliant' member and spokesperson. To expel me for a difference of opinion on party policy, is nothing short of scandalous in my opinion.
I will never stop trying to change the world for the better- whether its allowing children the space & freedom to grow without pressure from trans-lobbyists, or speaking up for women's rights or acting on biodiversity and climate change. I believe a better world is possible.'

Brave woman. Outrageous bullshit from the Greens, again.

The Greens have learnt nothing and look ridiculous, especially after the Supreme Court ruling. My parliamentary candidate was suspended for expressing the view that sex is biological and left hanging around for months pending an investigation. That was two years ago and here we still are.

No words. They go from bad to worse.

WarriorN · 09/06/2025 17:54

Idiots

I really hope Adrian and Ellie become the new leaders. They’re the only hope for steering the party in a better more sane direction

WarriorN · 09/06/2025 17:59

She’s a gp ffs!

I'm genuinely sorry to say, but I think it might be too late.

Wow! And the whole, 'comparison with Charlie Caine' bit: once again, it's funny, but it's not! What does she know, after all? She's only a GP!

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 09/06/2025 20:50

Cor, the greens are fucked aren’t they? Good job there’s no environmental issues to be worrying about!

SlackJawedDisbeliefXY · 09/06/2025 21:09

The final email of expulsion stated that in order to protect the party, they had concluded that I needed to be permanently expelled

It is a strange twist that the lunatics who have expelled Dr Devulapalli 'to protect the party' are likely destroying the party by their own actions

DiamondThrone · 09/06/2025 21:18

She has now become Green Critical

BundleBoogie · 09/06/2025 21:20

I guess they want to find out how it feels to go bankrupt?

Ellie is my MP.
She's totally TWAW.
I have emails from her in response to my emails, over several General Elections.

Ellie is a PhD, not a GP.
Pallavi is a GP

Oh FFS what insane compelled speech. And zero tolerance for the tiniest deviation from True Dogma. These are the people who would have burnt heretics at the stake.

musicalfrog · 10/06/2025 04:40

Why would anyone GC still be involved/ want to be involved with the green party?

HeyWiggle · 10/06/2025 04:56

Another reason not to vote green

Yes I meant Pallavi.

Still no study of the environmental cost of gender-affirming care. The standard Green response is "Oh, it is a fraction of the overall footprint of all healthcare". Not relevant, of course. When we start treating a carcinoma, for example, there is at the very least some chance of improved outcomes. Gender-affirming care is performed in the knowledge that it will always fail. The NHS and the government are negligent in their failure to acknowledge the cost to the environment and the taxpayer of treatments that cannot succeed in their stated aim.

Yes, mine too. She repeats all the TRA mantras. I'm not sure whether she believes them or not; I suspect she would rather get on with tackling environmental issues. However, that does not necessarily mean that she would root it out of the Party if she is elected. I have voted for the Greens from time to time because they can be excellent on local issues. My worry is that we get a hung parliament at some point and then that puts the Greens in a very powerful position to demand batshittery. I think, on balance, I would rather they imploded now and then sensible Greens could always start a new party from the ashes.

The greens in East Anglia are busy (checks) opposing wind farms and solar power because beautiful Sacred Countryside so I'm not surprised they'd be willing to make self sabotaging decisions. They're like the Lib Dems in 2010 circa I Agree With Nick in that everyone seems to like them and they effect a sort of moral high ground. They've not had to make any Difficult Decisions yet, nor work out which of their rainbow coalition (LGBTQ+, Woodcraft folk, repulsed lefties who are convinced Starmer is a nazi, Nimbys, disaffected Muslim voters BC Gaza) they'll have to let down.

Bewilderingly, a good article in the Guardian:

'The Green party is veering away from its founding culture towards a more leftwing authoritarianism, its former health spokesperson has claimed.
Dr Pallavi Devulapalli said trans rights had become an obvious totem in the new climate, and accused the party of trying to purge anyone with gender-critical views.

Devulapalli, a GP and member of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk council, was expelled from the party for a rules breach that she has said was due to her beliefs on gender. Her expulsion this month, she said, has exposed a rift in the party’s leadership on transgender issues that threatens to widen during this summer’s leadership election.
The party’s current co-leader Adrian Ramsay, who has argued that members should not be thrown out for saying trans women are not women, is pressing internally for Devulapalli’s expulsion to be reviewed.'

It's weird, isn't it? From time to time, there's a few green shoots from the Guardian, and it's clear a few of their staff are not insane on this issue. But I think it's hard to see the editorial line changing under the current editor.

Yes, I cancelled my membership because of these issues and I know one family member and one friend who have also done so. No doubt many more have left the party or stopped voting for them.
