Rainy afternoon so flicking about on Netflix for a movie to watch while the dogs dry off in front of the fire.
Has one of my favourite actresses in (Lesley Manville) so gave it a go. It was really interesting to me as someone who was a young girl at the time of the film. I vaguely recall Miss World and the protests but the casual sexism and objectification of women wasn’t really on my radar as an eight year old. Interesting too the disagreements between women on how to go about things…
I do hope it won’t take 50 years to make a film about the amazing women of FWS. As it said at the end of this one “Attempts to bring down the patriarchy remain ongoing”.
It’s worth a watch. Anyone else already seen it?
